SOUTH TEXAS BLUES is based on the true story of the making of one of the most infamous horror films of all time. During the summer of 1973, a small inexperienced crew of independent filmmakers went to war, unaware of the legend they were creating . South Texas Blues is the story of “Tobe” and the crew of Saturn In Retrograde. Told through the twisted mind of “Tobe” South Texas Blues is a trip down the dark road of one man’s obsession.
Christopher P. Garetano (Horror Business, Cottonmouth) spent two years researching and writing South Texas Blues and is currently developing the motion picture. Over the past year he has worked with Artist Trevor Cook on the Graphic novel adaptation of his original screenplay.
The South Texas Blues graphic novel is already in full production and will be released in October of 2009. It's written by Garetano and beautifully illustrated by artist Trevor Cook. The graphic novel is a faithful adaptation of Garetano's screenplay and vision for the coming film. In addition legendary comic book artist Steve Bissette (Swamp Thing, Cottonmouth) is drawing the cover art.
