Deborah Ann Woll who portrays Jessica on TRUE BLOOD is the first official cast member that's been announced for Darren Lynn Bousman's remake of MOTHER'S DAY according to The Hollywood Reporter. Twisted Pictures, the Genre Co., Rat Entertainment and LightTower Entertainment are producing the redux of the 1980 Troma cult classic original which was helmed by Charlie Kaufman.

THR says, "The original "Mother's Day" revolved around three female friends who, while camping, run afoul of two brothers who engage in murder and rape to impress their deranged mother. The remake sees the villainous family, slightly expanded to include a daughter (Woll), return to the house where they grew up and terrorize the new owners and their guests."

While I'm not sure MOTHER'S DAY really requires a remake, nor do I understand why Bousman would follow up REPO! THE GENETIC OPERA with this particular film, Woll has become my biggest crush on TRUE BLOOD. (Particualrly love her performance in Season 2) More when we hear it!
