Several months back, it was rumored that writer Kevin Williamson was conceiving of an entirely new SCREAM trilogy to kick off with the long-talked about (yet probably unnecessary) SCREAM 4. Now, EW is reporting that it is in fact true as the latest flick in the SCREAM franchise is being referred to as a "reboot". Don't worry, in this case, I don't think that's the appropriate term considering actors from the original trilogy are intended to come back.

From the original article: "EW has learned exclusively that Williamson has approached Courteney Cox Arquette and David Arquette to return. Deals have yet to be signed, however, as all involved try to hammer out potential scheduling conflicts that could arise now that Courteney Cox Arquette's pilot Cougar Town was picked up by ABC."

Wes Craven has gone on record saying that he'd consider coming back with Kevin Williamson's involvement but not until he reads the script and sees it's something worth coming back to. No word on how Neve Campbell would play into the new movie or if she'd even want to come back, but we'll keep you posted.
