Sir/Madam/Horror Fan
I was hoping to get your support on a movie project I am making called "INVASION OF THE NOT QUITE DEAD", its being produced by the legendary filmmaker Ken Russell, and we are in talks with some of the horror industries biggest names including Tom Savini, Sean Pertwee, David Hess, Ken Foree and Kevin Pollak. My name is Antony Lane, and I am the writer/director/producer for this new Zombie franchise. My goal is to do the impossible, to independently raise the movies £100,000 budget through a single website, of which I am launching tomorrow called THE INDYWOOD MOVIE PROJECT. We aim to offer 5000 zombie fans a complete digital Zombie Makeover, we are also looking for business sponsorship and to sell 1000 limited edition pre-order DVDs. With the current for film financing we have decided to take matters into our own hands and ask the fans to help get this made.
Since doing a pre-launch on Twitter 6 days ago we are now being followed by over 1500 followers who are excited by the fund raising project and the movie itself. http://www.twitter.com/indywoodFILMS
PLOT SUMMARY TO THE MOVIE:
In 1978 a meteorite crash lands into the Swiss Mountains, unleashing a deadly virus. Killing everyone within a 20 mile radius, the incident was covered up by local officials. Now thirty years later the virus is released onto an unsuspecting island off the coast of England. A group of survivors must band together in order to survive the death and destruction of the once friendly locals in this black comedy horror "Invasion Of The Not Quite Dead".
If you think that this story meets your target audience then please can you do an article on my fundraising project or the movie itself which has gained a huge cult following across the internet due to already being promoted on Europe's largest online DVD rental stores LOVEFILM.com and ODEON DIRECT as a future release.

KEN RUSSELL (THE DEVILS, TOMMY, ALTERED STATES)
"Antony deserves all the support he can get for using the internet as a method of bringing together independent filmmaking talent from all over the world.
DAVID HESS (THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT, SWAMP THING)
"I've been a fan of raising money on the internet for years and just never had the business model to do it with. It seems you've pushed a button that resonates with people and that's great. I'm convinced that the internet is the wave of the present/future and that there will no longer be a price requirement to make a good film. ONLY TALENT! I'm glad to be alive at this point in time and sharing the changing paradigms"
Please if you do a story can you include a link to the fundraising site http://www.theindywoodproject.com and also let me know so that I can add a link to your article on the press page on the project website.

INVASION OF THE NOT QUITE DEAD
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
THE INDYWOOD MOVIE PROJECT PRESS RELEASE:
Grimsby born filmmaker Antony Lane is attempting to revolutionize the way films are funded here in the UK, by putting some life back into an almost dead film industry. In a quirky new concept Antony will be launching an epic film fundraising website called "THE INDYWOOD MOVIE PROJECT" on May 1st 2009. His goal is to independently raise the £100,000 budget needed to make his debut feature film "INVASION OF THE NOT QUITE DEAD" which is already being tipped as one of 2010's most anticipated horror movies.
This is the brainchild of entrepreneur moviemaker Antony Lane, a recent film and video graduate from the International Film School Wales (IFSW). He originally launched the movie project in 2007, using the internet as a way of of bringing together the best filmmaking talent from around the globe, the first phase of the project was a huge success.
When the project originally launched In November 2007 Antony was able to make headline news with his Guinness World Record attempt at a zombie gathering in the city centre of Cardiff, this made national TV news, giving the project a huge level of media attention.
Some of Hollywood’s top film-makers have backed Antony's enterprising film project including Kevin Pollak, James Gunn, Lloyd Kaufman and the infamous Ken Russell who has agreed to take on the role of consulting executive producer.
“I’m very pleased to give my support to Indywood which is a very ambitious project. Antony deserves all the support he can get for using the internet as a method of bringing together independent film-making talent from all over the world.” said Ken Russell.
“It’s a great honour to have such an amazing film-maker as Ken Russell on board,” said 30-year-old Antony. “Ken, who will also have a part in the film, is a great believer in independent film-making.
"Invasion Of The NOT QUITE Dead" has already become a cult sensation across the internet even before entering pre-production, due to a year long marketing campaign which has reached out to the Zombie fans of the world, giving them nothing more than a poster and synopsis, but at the same time wetting their appetite for more. Within less than a year of promoting the movie Antony has managed to get the film advertised on two of Europe’s leading online dvd rental stores as well as being featured on several theatrical blockbuster lists for 2010.
Classed as NOT QUITE a Zombie movie, fans of the genre will not be disappointed with the direction Antony has decided to take with his new Zombie horror franchise.
"I have been a huge fan of the Zombie genre for most of my life, so it's essential for me to get the story just right. I think the title alone has made fans of the genre excited, but then when you add the names Ken Russell and Tom Savini to the mix it just adds intensity to the whole thing, I am very excited to potentially work with some of my heroes of horror". Antony Lane
The Fundraising site theindywoodproject.com has already become some what of a cult phenomenon due to Antony opening up a project Twitter account, within less than a week of being online Antony had over 1500 followers excited about what the project had to offer and what they could do to help.
"I think networking sites are amazing, how else can you get so close to the fans and learn what it is they want from a movie, I think places like Twitter and Facebook are the real marketing tools to a successful project" Antony lane
On the fundraising front, Antony has teamed up with visual arts studio DESTINATION CREATION to give every customer to the project a complete photo Zombie makeover, making it the only place on the net to get yourself transformed into the un-dead without getting covered in makeup.
"I love the website and am excited to see that the independent filmmakers in the uk have this sort of awareness raising foundation. I wish all those involved the best of fortune and opportunity, good luck". Kevin Pollak, star of the Usual Suspects.
The Project also plans on raising money through business sponsorship, product placement and to sell 1000 limited edition pre-order DVD's.
"Since my pre-order customers won't get their movie for a while I want to offer them something in the here and now, which is why I am offering them a chance to appear in the movie and to also receive exclusive merchandise, not bad for the price of a DVD." Antony lane
The project site will also be a place for Antony to show off in great detail what it takes to make a feature film, taking it from pre-production right the way through to the release of the DVD, this site will be an encyclopedia of knowledge regarding what it really takes to make a feature film.
"I've been a fan of raising money on the internet for years and just never had the business model to do it with. It seems Antony has pushed a button that resonates with people and that's great. I'm convinced that the internet is the wave of the present/future and that there will no longer be a price requirement to make a good film. ONLY TALENT!" David Hess star of the cult classic THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT.
”I want to give people from all around the world a chance to help out and contribute towards this project, I have complete faith in this quirky fundraising concept, even before launching the project site we had attached two big business sponsors.
A leisure franchise called Bromley Mytime has already sponsored the movie for £1000 and has become very excited at the possibilities that the project can bring to the local community, including the chance to offer a placement for a number of young people to work on the film.
"The Indywood Project is a really exciting opportunity for young people across the Borough to be involved first hand with the creation of a major feature film. This two year long project has already gained considerable credibility and industry attention and Bromley Mytime are pleased to be working in partnership with witer/director/producer and local resident, Antony Lane to put Bromley firmly on the filming map." Kiaran Hall, Arts Development Manager, Bromley Mytime
"Keeping the project local to Kent gives me a chance of bringing a small part of Hollywood to the area, we are also looking to give members of the local community a chance to get involved in this production." Antony Lane
Other filmmakers that have come on board to help Antony include Hollywood Special FX artist RICH KNIGHT (Beowulf), Make up artist CORRINE BOSSU (King Kong), and Emmy award winning composer Misha Segal who will be giving the film a very chilling score.
Rich Knight said, "Indywood represents the future of Independent film, I am very excited to play my part in the project”.
Antony has began to negotiate with some of the industries biggest names in horror, including: TOM SAVINI (From Dusk Till Dawn), DAVID HESS (Last House On The Left), EZRA BUZZINGTON (The Hills Have Eyes), LESLIE SIMPSON (Dog Soldiers), WARWICK DAVIS (Leprechaun), DAVID BAILIE (Pirates Of The Caribbean), ANTHONY HEAD (Buffy), and SEAN PERTWEE (Dog Soldiers).
Shooting has been scheduled for early 2010 at various locations around Kent, Cardiff, Grimsby and the Isle Of Scilly where the movie will be set.
“I want to prove that you don’t have to rely on studios or private investors to raise a movie’s budget. With ambition and enthusiasm the sky’s the limit – we can bring Hollywood to the UK.” Said Antony Lane
The film will have an official London premiere on Halloween 2010, before being shown at top film festivals worldwide, including Cannes.
One week before launching the project Antony and Ken Russell auditioned a celebrity for a role which was also filmed for a documentary that will air on BBC 2 in August.
“We hope that this unique and quirky idea will catch the heart and minds of people around the world and will help us to independently fund our film and put the Kent film industry on the map.”
