We already debuted the DVD cover artwork for S. DARKO: A DONNIE DARKO TALE in our previous news post HERE, but now 20th Century Fox has sent over the official press release, complete with the film's synopsis and Blu-Ray cover art. Check those out below:

CENTURY CITY, CA. – The story continues… through her eyes, when S. DARKO emerges onto Blu-ray Disc (BD) and DVD May 12 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. Daveigh Chase (Donnie Darko, The Ring) stars in the riveting continuation to the smash cult hit Donnie Darko. Co-starring Ed Westwick (TV’s “Gossip Girl”), Briana Evigan (Step Up 2: The Streets) and Jackson Rathbone (Twilight), this edgy and intriguing psychological thriller takes you through the wormhole into a world where time means nothing and the end is near!

Samantha Darko (Chase), now eighteen, and her rebellious best-friend Corey (Evigan) set out on a cross-country road-trip to follow their Hollywood dreams but are cut short when their water pump explodes outside a small town in Utah. After an unexplained meteorite crash-lands in the town, Samantha begins to be plagued by bizarre dreams warning her of the universe’s imminent end. Now, she must decipher between blurred fantasy and reality, face the demons she fled back home, and attempt to save both the world and herself from the ultimate destruction. Featuring a filmmakers’ commentary, a making-of featurette, deleted scenes and more, S. DARKO will be available on BD for the suggested retail price of $29.99 U.S. and on DVD for $22.98 U.S.

S. DARKO Synopsis: Seven years after her brother’s death, Samantha Darko is on the run…from her shattered home, from her bizarre past, and even from herself. But when she and her friend Corey are stranded in a desert town, they witness a meteorite crash that fractures time…and begins a countdown to the end of the world. Now Sam must rely on the frightening visions that plague her dreams to overcome her own dark destiny and set time back on course before everything she knows is destroyed!

DVD Features
The S. DARKO DVD is presented in widescreen format with English, French and Spanish 5.1 Dolby Surround and subtitles. Bonus features include:

Blu-ray Features
The S. DARKO Blu-ray Disc is presented in widescreen format 1:78:1 aspect ratio with English 5.1 DTS HD Master Audio, English and Spanish 5.1 Dolby Digital, English, French and Spanish subtitles. The BD includes all of the above DVD bonus features in hi-definition.

The follow-up to Richard Kelly's original was directed by Chris Fisher from a script by Nathan Atkins and stars Daveigh Chase (reprising her role as Samantha Darko), Jackson Rathbone (TWILIGHT, DREAD), Briana Evigan (FEAR ITSELF: NEW YEAR'S DAY, SORORITY ROW), Elizabeth Berkley (SHOWGIRLS), Ed Westwick (100 FEET, CHILDREN OF MEN) and Matthew Davis (BELOW, BLOODRAYNE).
