Video Montage Of Several New SAW V Images!

A mere day after EW revealed the new image of Agent Strahm (Scott Patterson) about to face his trap in SAW V, a mysterious video montage created by You Tube user "JBraper" with even more SAW V pics has surfaced. There's a ton of new photos in the video clip, including various images of Tobin Bell as Jigsaw (in what we imagine will be numerous flashback scenes). Also of note is the final image in this clip. It's either a major spoiler, wishful thinking from a fan, or just a photo from the first SAW film. If it's a hint of a returning character, well then SAW V might turn out to be quite interesting indeed! Check it out below!

The fifth installment in the SAW franchise directed by David Hackl & written by screenwriting duo Marcus Dunstan & Patrick Melton (FEAST, new HELLRAISER) stars Tobin Bell, Julie Benz, Costas Mandylor, Scott Patterson, Mark Rolston, Samantha Lemole, Meagan Good, Betsy Russell, Carlo Rota, Greg Bryk and Laura Gordon. It opens October 24th, 2008!

William Lustig Bringing Back MANIAC COP!

"It must be visiting hours, 'cause my friend is back!"

FANGORIA is reporting that at the recent Anthology Film Archives screening of the first two MANIAC COP films, director William Lustig revealed his intentions to make a new MANIAC COP movie! Lustig directed all 3 MANIAC COP films as a collaboration with screenwriter Larry Cohen (IT'S ALIVE) and both are very much involved in the series resurrection. "Larry and I have gotten the sequel rights back for MANIAC COP, and we’re preparing to do a MANIAC COP 4. I don’t have any more details other than that; this all happened within the last month, so it’s so fresh… When I get back to Los Angeles, Larry and I are going to sit down and work on something."

I love the first 2 MANIAC COP films. (3rd one's OK, but Lustig often admits to producer's interference) So, count us excited for the return of the MANIAC COP! (Question is... will Robert Z'Dar return too?) More when we hear it!

First Word From Directors On HALLOWEEN 2; Sequel To Rob Zombie's Remake!

Back in a news report from June of this year, word got out that French director's Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury were in talks to helm HALLOWEEN 2, the sequel to Rob Zombie's HALLOWEEN remake. Now, the director's themselves have commented about the upcoming flick in the pages of Rue Morgue magazine according to SHOCK.

Maury says, "it's a proposition we couldn't refuse." (From the SHOCK post:) He explains they're reverent of Zombie's re-imagining of Michael Myers and they're out to put their stamp on the character not copy what came before them. "Therefore, our vision will be done with upmost respect, with a continuity of [Zombie's] work but also a real evolution of the world he set in place."

Have you guys seen INSIDE yet? The flick these 2 crazy bastards made? It's by far one of the most brutal and bloody movies that this writer has seen in years, so the idea of these guys making a Michael Myers flick is intriguing. We would assume that Scout Taylor-Compton would return as Laurie Strode. Rumor has it that Tyler Mane (Michael Myers) and Malcolm McDowell (Dr. Sam Loomis) signed sequel contracts when they signed on to the first film. September's issue of Rue Morgue magazine will have the full interview with the director duo. More when we hear it!

Now, we've been provided with a behind-the-scene video from BLOOD NIGHT, as well as several exclusive stills from the flick. Check out the sneak peek video, synopsis and stills below!

"BLOOD NIGHT: THE LEGEND OF MARY HATCHET"

Long Island, 1978: A young girl named Mary Mattock gruesomely murders her family with a hatchet and is locked away for life in Long Island’s notorious Kings Park Psychiatric Center . Ten years later Mary escapes from the asylum, leaving a grizzly wake of bodies and blood. Gunned down by the police, Mary meets her own demise outside the sanitarium walls. This incident gave birth to the legend of Mary Hatchet’s walking ghost and the mischievous night named in honor of her death, “BLOOD NIGHT!”

Stemming from the real life Long Island legend of Mary Hatchet, BLOOD NIGHT: THE LEGEND OF MARY HATCHET tells the tale of a group of teenagers enjoying their annual “Blood Night” festivities, when they come face to face with the reality of this haunting legend. One by one the teens begin to disappear and meet their fates. As the body count rises, so do the unanswered questions about their missing friends and the secrets of Mary’s horrifying past. Is there more to this legend than the vengeful ghost of Mary Hatchet and if so who will survive to tell the terrifying tale?

Starring Bill Moseley, Danielle Harris, Samantha Facchi, Billy Magnussen, Nate Dushku, Alissa Dean, Samantha Hahn, Maryam Basir and Anthony Marks, BLOOD NIGHT: THE LEGEND OF MARY HATCHET is written, produced and directed by Frank Sabatella, and produced by Frank Mosca. Mike Seiman and Carlton Hickman are the films executive producers.
