Get Ready For... The CHILDREN OF THE CORN Remake?!

Bloody-Disgusting got the exclusive news that Donald P. Borchers, producer on the original 1984 CHILDREN OF THE CORN is writing and directing the new remake of CHILDREN OF THE CORN. His previous directing credits include PERFECT FIT and GRAVE SECRETS. (He also associate produced THE BEASTMASTER.) According to B-D's article, Anchor Bay Entertainment is producing the remake for a Sci-Fi Channel premiere!? Casting has begun with an intended August shoot scheduled in Eastern Central Iowa.

The new film will be a period piece set in the 1970's and BD posted the following synopsis. "Former Vietnam vet BURT's marriage to former prom queen VICKY is on the rocks, but Burt hopes to rekindle their old flame with a second honeymoon driving trip. Unfortunately, their journey takes them into the heart of darkness - a seemingly deserted rural community that conceals a grim secret among its rows of tall corn...     For the love of God...PLEASE!!! NO MORE REMAKES!!!

    I KNEW IT WAS COMING NEVER HAD A DOUBT

    Oh my god...I really think they're running out of ideas since they're remaking every movie under the sun.Not only this one but Nightmare On Elm Street and Friday The 13th. The originals are amazing enough! Leave them alone!

    DO NOT READ THIS BLOG POSTING IF YOU'VE NEVER READ THE SHORT STORY "CHILDREN OF THE CORN"

    I really hope they stay true to the short story. Granted, it has a sad, dark ending, but it was still better than how they did it in the movie. At least put in an ending where the police get wind of what's going on.
