New DARK CITY Re-Release!
Share on FacebookWow. I remember seeing DARK CITY in theaters multiple times upon it's release in 1998. It's one of my personal favorite films. Now, it looks like we can look forward to a new re-release, complete with additional FX, new score and a different cut! Bloody-Disgusting chatted with screenwriter David Goyer and he confirmed, "It's coming out fairly soon [and will] probably have limited theatrical, but I'm not sure. I have seen almost all of it and I took part in an over hour long making-of." Besides addition FX work, Goyer also revealed, "[They re-did] the score and the cuts a little longer. All of the parties involved did fairly lengthly interviews with us, they'll be included on there." DARK CITY was directed by Alex Proyas (THE CROW) and starred Rufus Sewell, William Hurt, Jennifer Connelly and Kiefer Sutherland. The teaser trailer is probably still one of my all time favorite trailers. (See below!) We'll keep you posted on when this new version will get a re-release!

True! But I don't consider it a double-dip if it's a new or alternate cut of a film. That way I can still love and enjoy the original DVD (the theatrical) and then have this new version too! Besides, the more Jennifer Connelly, the better!!! ;-)

WOW, I can't wait. This
has been rumored for a
while, I'm so glad it
has come to fruition.
Roger Ebert was the only
critic who championed
this flick back in the
day, even naming it the
best film of '98.
