"Anyway, thank God Showtime stepped in! They were willing to premiere the movie without taking the DVD rights. Ultimately, I think it will be the best thing for AN AMERICAN CRIME. First of all, Showtime is quickly becoming the edgiest channel on television—these days their programming, in my opinion, surpasses that of HBO. They certainly take more chances. And they are very passionate about the film. So it feels like the right fit. More importantly, Sylvia [Likens’] story will reach a far wider audience on Showtime—certainly more than if we had a typical indie theatrical release. With Showtime’s support, the movie’s premiere will become a real event."
Bloody-Disgusting TV (the site's official You Tube channel) has just debuted the final trailer for PATHOLOGY, in theaters April 18th from MGM and Lakeshore Entertainment. The flick stars Milo Ventimiglia (HEROES) and Alyssa Milano. Here's the synopsis and you can check out the trailer below! "The story centers on a young intern (Ventimiglia) who is studying pathology at Philadelphia's University Hospital and encounters an attractive but murderous group of colleagues who have devised a deadly game to see who among them can commit the perfect murder, while the others compete to determine the cause of death."

Watch BAD KIDS episode 2:
A few weeks back we broke the news that Lloyd Kaufman was producing TOXIC AVENGER: THE MUSICAL, now the official site for the production has gone live. Visit: The Toxic Avenger Musical.com to hear songs such as "Who Will Save New Jersey?", "Hot Toxic Love" and "All Men Are Freaks"!
And hey, wouldn't now be a great time to check out, or revisit, America's Bad Kids, episode 2, wherein Johnny Hot Body interviews Uncle Lloyd? Sure it would:
We just got word that STARZ will be running Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's GRINDHOUSE on March 31st at 9:00pm EXACTLY as it was meant to be seen: Both films together, with the fake trailers, with the missing reels, everything as it was in the theaters.
If you missed this experience while it was out, THIS is your ONLY change to see it as it, this version is not available on DVD. Amazing and thank you STARZ!
But according to B-D the cast will include Christopher Lee, Joan Collins, Graham McTavish, Paul Wesley, Susie Amy, Morgan James and Natalie Parnes. It's going to involve some Christians evangalists from Texas stumbling upon the strange world of Sir Lachlan Morrison in Scotland. Although their hosts seem receptive to their message, they will soon discover they are sadly mistaken.
Neat poster alert:
...here's the pic:
All we know so far is that "T-Rex" is the name of a biker character, and that this film is NOT based on THE NAIL comic book that Rob Zombie co-wrote with 30 DAYS OF NIGHT creator Steve Niles. Whatever it is, the release date is set for August 28th, 2009.
JAIME KING, previously seen in "SIN CITY", "THE TRIPPER", and the upcoming "FANBOYS", is the first to join the cast of "MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3D".
According to the Hollywood Reporter Jaime will play "Sarah Palmer, a woman who has married her teenage sweetheart's nemesis, and the pair have a child together. When she and her first love are reunited, it becomes clear that she still carries a torch for the man."
"MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3D" will be released by Lions Gate and begins shooting on May 12 with a planned in January 2009.
I'm not going to hate on Uwe Boll because I really think minds might change a bit on him when you see "POSTAL", and hey, at least he's making movies, the lastest of which to go into production is "JAIL", starring Edward Furlong.
The film is based on the true story of a prisoner who was raped and tortured during his incarciration. You can catch up with the good doctor on-set in a series of video interviews available at The Movie Set

Summit Pictures going forward with a feature-length version of TWILIGHT ZONE episode "DEATH SHIP" with writer Michael Brandt ("3:10 TO YUMA") making his directorial debut. (According to The Hollywood Reporter)
![]()
"DEATH SHIP" was one of many "TWILIGHT ZONE" episodes penned by Richard Matheson, whose works are undergoing something of a remake renaissance most succesfully with 2007's "I AM LEGEND".
"DEATH SHIP" involved a spaceship crew finding a exact duplicate of their ship crashed on a planet they have been exploring.
The feature will be titled "COUNTDOWN" and will be co-written by Derek Haas from an earlier screenplay by Stephen Gregg and Scott Burn. They are hoping to begin production this summer with a $30 million budget.
Interestingly Richard Kelly ("DONNIE DARKO") has recently completed a remake of Matheson's "BUTTON, BUTTON" episode of "TWILIGHT ZONE" (from CBS's mid-80's revival of the series) titled, "THE BOX".
THE ICONS EMPIRE BEGINS!!
I'll be flat out honest. I don't get this. I mean, I like PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE, but I never got into ROCKY HORROR. And anything with Paris Hilton in the cast immediately makes me uninterested. But I loved what director Darren Lynn Bousman did with the SAW sequels, so if anything, I'm curious about REPO! THE GENETIC OPERA. (Plus, POE was on the soundtrack, and I love POE.) The wonderful fiends at Arrow In The Head got the trailer for REPO! You can check it out below or at THIS link. The movie was supposed to hit theaters in late April, but we've heard it's been postponed indefinitely. What do you guys think of this trailer?!
Well, a trailer for TRAIN, a remake of TERROR TRAIN has made it's way onto You Tube. The flick stars Thora Birch and Derek Magyar & was written and directed by Gideon Raff. You can check the trailer out below. But... looks... more like HOSTEL on a TRAIN rather than the TERROR TRAIN that I remember...
A few days ago, MTV premiered the first trailer for the highly anticipated THE LOST BOYS 2: THE TRIBE starring Tad Hilgenbrink, Autumn Reeser, Angus Sutherland, Corey Feldman, Jamison New Lander and featuring cameos by Corey Haim and Tom Savini. Today, a new full length trailer appeared on the I AM LEGEND DVD release. God bless You Tube, because it's already on line and you can check it out below! THE LOST BOYS 2: THE TRIBE was directed by P.J. Pesce from a script by Hans Rodionoff and will debut on DVD later this summer! Check out the new trailer below!
Several videos have started popping up on You Tube in what appears to be a viral campaign for the upcoming Screen Gems feature QUARANTINE. (Which is a remake of the Spanish film [REC]) The movie was directed by John Dowdle who helmed the similar "found-footage" flick THE POUGHKEEPSIE TAPES. QUARANTINE stars Jay Hernandez and Jennifer Carpenter. You can check out both viral videos for QUARANTINE below, but more importantly, I've also posted the trailer to the original Spanish movie [REC], which looks far better than this American remake version. (Sorry fiends, I'm already sick of the "found-footage" craze!)

IOF: Justin had done a cameo for the JEEPERS CREEPERS 2. Was it true that you were asked back to cameo in the second one as well?
Here’s what happened. There were a lot of rumors that went around about it, and I’ve heard a lot of rumors of people saying I turned it down. I didn’t really turn it down! There was a first script, an idea that had to do with my character and… it didn’t really work. It just wasn’t that frightening and everyone ended up agreeing it didn’t work. If it had been really up to par with the first one, I would’ve jumped in…
So, there was an original first draft for the 2nd JEEPERS CREEPERS that involved your character as a main character again.
Yes. Yes. And everyone, the studio, Frances (Ford Coppola), Victor (Salva) – every one agreed that it just wasn’t as strong as the first one. So then they came up with this other idea, which was a version of what the 2nd one ended up being, and my character was a cameo in it. And truthfully, the reason they decided not to do it was they originally were going to kill off my character and they decided that they didn’t want to, to leave it open for more of the franchise. To be there later on. So, that’s the true story behind it. It wasn’t that I just turned it down.
I figured it was something along those lines.
It didn’t come together in the right way. I totally would’ve done it if it was right.
Were they trying to replicate what the first one was again or did it just go in a direction that didn’t seem to make sense for your character?
Victor had a great idea, it just wasn’t scary enough. And then he went a totally different route. But they wanted to leave room to be able to come back to the Trish character. There was a cameo in the beginning (of JEEPERS CREEPERS 2) where I was brutally killed. (Laughs)
Awww, no!
And every one made the decision to take it out so there could be a JEEPERS 3.
Well, I’m really, really glad they didn’t do that. I prefer seeing a cameo from the ghost of Justin over seeing you get killed in the beginning. (Laughs) Have you seen the 2nd one?
Yeah, I have seen it! And I did like it!
While she's remaining coy about any big details, she does reconfirm with Icons of Fright that she's definitely up for and in talks for "Jeepers Creepers 3":
IOF: Well, they just announced that Victor is writing and directing JEEPERS CREEPERS 3. Do you know anything about it?
I know a lot about it.
You know a lot about it?!
(Laughs)
Is that a hint, Gina?
(Laughs) I will leave it at that.
Well, after everything you just said, they left it open so you could come back. Interesting.
I, I am very familiar… and yes, Victor and I have been speaking, and I will just leave it at that. So, we will see what happens.
Well, I’ll keep my fingers crossed, because you and Ray Wise in the same movie together would be awesome.
Look for our complete, unedited in-depth interview with Gina Phillips in the April update of Icons of Fright!
The trailer for the new indie flick BLOOD NIGHT: THE LEGEND OF MARY HATCHET has debuted on-line! The movie was directed by Frank Sabatella from a script he co-wrote with Elke Blasi and stars genre vets Danielle Harris (HALLOWEEN) and Bill Moseley (THE DEVIL'S REJECTS). Being based out of Long Island, NY ourselves, we've always wanted to see a Mary Hatchet flick! And this one looks promising! Check out the synopsis, My Space page and trailer below!
Long Island, 1978: A young girl named Mary Mattock gruesomely murders her family with a hatchet and is locked away for life in Long Island’s notorious Kings Park Psychiatric Center. Ten years later Mary escapes from the asylum, leaving a grizzly wake of bodies and blood. Gunned down by the police, Mary meets her own demise outside the sanitarium walls. This incident gave birth to the legend of Mary Hatchet’s walking ghost and the mischievous night named in honor of her death, BLOOD NIGHT!
Stemming from the real life Long Island legend of Mary Hatchet, “Blood Night” tells the tale of a group of teenagers enjoying their annual Blood Night festivities, when they come face to face with the reality of this haunting legend. One by one the teens begin to disappear and meet their fates. As the body count rises, so do the unanswered questions about their missing friends and the secrets of Mary’s horrifying past. Is there more to this legend than the vengeful ghost of Mary Hatchet and if so who will survive to tell the terrifying tale?
Fueled by intense and energetic performances from Nate Dushku, Bill Moseley, Danielle Harris and Samantha Facchi as Mary Hatchet, audiences are in for a non-stop splatter fest filled with sex, guts, and heads that roll! Blood Night puts a neck-breaking spin on the gory and gut wrenching slasher pieces from the legendary decade of 1980’s horror!

The five films in this collection have been remastered from original vault elements and are presented uncut and uncensored for an all-new look at one of the most controversial and influential filmmakers in the history of modern cinema.
The Dario Argento Box Set, is the quintessential assemblage of Argento’s brilliance and includes such masterpieces as:
Tenebre Special Edition (released in the U.S. as Unsane), starring Academy Award® nominee Anthony Franciosa (A Hatful of Rain, Across 110th Street) and Golden Globe® winner John Saxon (A Nightmare on Elm Street, Enter the Dragon). Tenebre features a brand new 16x9 transfer, plus an all-new retrospective featurette;
Phenomena Special Edition (released in the U.S. as Creepers), starring Academy Award® winner Jennifer Connelly (A Beautiful Mind, Blood Diamond) and the legendary Donald Pleasence (Halloween series, The Great Escape, Escape from New York ). Trauma, starring Argento’s exquisite daughter Asia Argento (New Rose Hotel, XXX), three-time Academy Award®-nominee, Golden Globe® and Emmy Award® winner Piper Laurie (Children of a Lesser God, Carrie, “Twin Peaks”), Academy Award®- nominee Frederic Forrest (Apocalypse Now, The Rose, Tucker: The Man and His Dream) and Academy Award®-nominee Brad Dourif (Mississippi Burning, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, the voice of “Chucky” in the Child’s Play franchise);
The Card Player, starring Stefania Rocca (The Talented Mr. Ripley, Dracula’s Curse) and IFTA Award winner Liam Cunningham (Dog Soldiers, Breakfast on Pluto, “RKO 281”);
Do You Like Hitchcock?, Argento’s personal homage to his life-long idol, starring Elio Germano (Napoleon and Me, Respiro) and Chiara Conti (A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Marco Bellocchio’s award-winning The Religion Hour).
Each of these films boasts a variety of DVD special features, including audio commentaries, behind-the-scenes retrospectives, trailers and more.
In addition, Anchor Bay Entertainment will release the special editions of both Tenebre and Phenomena individually at an SRP of $19.97 each.
Argento was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2001 Amsterdam Fantasy Film Festival, the Maverick Tribute Award at the 2000 Cinequest San Jose Film Festival, a Special Award “FantaItaly” from the 1985 Fantafestival, the Time Machine Honorary Award from the Sitges – Catalonian Film Festival, and the 2007 Career Award from Flaiano International Prizes.
Argento’s career is going stronger than ever. He recently completed the long-anticipated Mother of Tears: The Third Mother, concluding the unforgettable trilogy begun in Suspiria and continued in Inferno, and he directed the segments Pelts and Jenifer for the award-winning Showtime series “Masters of Horror” (available from Anchor Bay Entertainment). Argento is currently directing the thriller Giallo, which will be released later this year. The film stars Ray Liotta, Asia Argento and Elsa Pataky.

Synopsis - OTIS is a story of suburban America gone haywire. In the midst of a serial abductor/killer’s rampage, a beautiful young teen, Riley Lawson (Ashley Johnson), goes missing. When her desperate parents, Will and Kate (Daniel Stern and Illeana Douglas), are contacted by her kidnapper, an insufferable FBI Special Agent (Jere Burns) takes charge of the case.
But, from deep within the psychopathic subterranean world created by Otis (Bostin Christopher), Riley turns the tables on her tormentor, manages to escape and to contact her parents. Fed up with the tragi-comic inability of the FBI to find their girl, Will, Kate and Riley’s brother, Reed (Jared Kusnitz), decide to take matters - and justice - into their own hands. But when Otis’ brother, Elmo (Kevin Pollak), shows up unexpectedly, the Lawsons find themselves mired in one of the more unusual and macabre consequences of vigilantism.
Far from proclaiming ‘Mission Accomplished,’ the backed-in-a-corner Lawsons will further complicate their already deadly predicament with a surprising, unfortunate and frankly hilarious final choice.
OTIS Extra Content (on both DVD and Blu-ray)
· Commentary by Director Tony Krantz and Writer Erik Jendresen
· Featurette: The Twisted World of Otis in which the cast and crew discuss how and why comedy works within the confines of the film
· Suite 16, the home movie of Otis’ fantasies made by Otis himself
· Alternate Ending which gives a starkly different tone and finality to the film. It includes an introduction by Tony Krantz.
