CLOVERFIELD 2 On The Way! THE INVISIBLE WOMAN In Queue!

Variety is reporting that director Matt Reeves is in early talks with Paramount to helm the CLOVERFIELD sequel. This comes as no surprise considering the first CLOVERFIELD cost an estimated $25 million to make (and market) and earned $46 million in it's opening weekend, setting a record for the Martin Luther King Day weekend. Reeves was currently putting together THE INVISIBLE WOMAN with GreeneStreet Films, but it's most likely that CLOVERFIELD 2 will come first. More details below!
From the Variety report: http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117979910.html?categoryid=13&cs=1

" Matt Reeves is in early talks with Paramount to direct a "Cloverfield" sequel, and he has also made a deal with GreeneStreet Films to direct "The Invisible Woman."

Timing of the projects will depend on how quickly Paramount can complete discussions with Reeves, producer J.J. Abrams and scribe Drew Goddard to scare up another monster tale for the "Cloverfield" sequel. There's a good chance the sequel will be Reeves' next film, in which case he will direct "The Invisible Woman" afterward.

"Woman" is a Hitchcock-style thriller that probes the mind of a former beauty queen who turns to a life of crime to protect her family.

Reeves wrote the script and will produce with Abrams and GreeneStreet's John Penotti, Fisher Stevens and Tim Williams."

MY BLOODY VALENTINE Director, Writer In Place!

A few days ago, we reported that a remake to 1981's MY BLOODY VALENTINE had staked out a February 13th, 2009 release date, despite not having a writer or director attached. According to the report, the film starts shooting late March/early April in Pittsburgh, PA. MY BLOODY VALENTINE might have some competition at the box office that weekend next year. Rumor has it that the new FRIDAY THE 13TH is also tentatively set for Friday February 13th, 2009!

Official Website For SPOOKS Comic Book Launches!

Back in December, we first started hearing rumblings about a new horror/action themed comic book titled SPOOKS, from filmmaker Ryan Shifrin, the writer/dirctor of the creature feature ABOMINABLE! With the comic book ready for a February 2008 release date courtesy of Devil's Due Publishing (the same fiends also responsible for the upcoming HALLOWEEN: NIGHTDANCE series), the official SPOOKS website is now live at www.spooksthecomic.com. Below we have a link to the site, as well as the full press release, and a link to our original FRIGHT exclusive interview with Shifrin. Check it out!

Click frame to read our FRIGHT exclusive interview with RYAN SHIFRIN!

Filmmaker Ryan Schifrin, creator and co-writer of the Devil’s Due military horror series SPOOKS, announced the January 30, 2008 launch of the official SPOOKS web site, located at http://www.spooksthecomic.com/. The site will feature original creative content, including:
·        Illustrated fact files on key military personnel
·        The official Department of Supernatural Defense “Most Wanted” list
·        Excerpts from the first issue
·        The official DOPD mission statement
·        Key links, including creator interviews and the “Comic Shop Locator Service”
·        SPOOKS music by Lalo Schifrin and Andy Garfield

“We’re really jazzed about the series, which hits next month, and wanted to do something special to commemorate the launch,” Schifrin revealed. SPOOKS is a four-issue arc with a script co-authored by veteran writer Larry Hama (G.I. Joe, Wolverine), artwork by Adam Archer and Jonny Rench (Friday the 13th), and creative underpinnings developed by Hama and famed fantasy author R.A. Salvatore (Forgotten Realms, Demon Wars). The covers for issue #1 were done by Greg Staples and Adam Archer, with subsequent covers by Archer, Federico D’Alessandro, Bill Sienkiewicz, and even film legend Drew Struzan.
The series spotlights the Department of Supernatural Defense, a branch of the military that “recruits, arms, and deploys specially trained forces based within the nation’s borders in support of national security…to keep the country free of supernatural enemies, whether their origins are domestic, international, or otherworldly.” This first limited series reveals a plot by supernatural terrorist groups to enter the United States covertly and launch a nationwide assault.
Schifrin, producer-director of the SciFi Channel event movie Abominable, developed the original concept while working with film producer Daniel Alter (Hitman). Together, they brought SPOOKS to Josh Blaylock, president of Devil’s Due Publishing.
“This is only the beginning for SPOOKS,” Schifrin revealed. “We’ll be adding to the web site on a regular basis, while developing the second story arc. We’ll also use the site to make special announcements as SPOOKS explodes into other media.”

It's Official... FREDDY'S BACK... But In A Remake!

It was inevitable. Variety's reporting that Platinum Dunes consisting of Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form, those fellows who remade THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, AMITYVILLE HORROR and THE HITCHER are planning on re-introducing a new Freddy Krueger to the world in a NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET relaunch. This news is hot on the heels of their proposed FRIDAY THE 13TH remake, which is set to start shooting this April for a release sometime next year. Sigh. Hope they don't hire a wrestler to portray Freddy Krueger...

Odette Yustman who played "Beth" in CLOVERFIELD is the first announced cast member of the FRIDAY THE 13TH remake from Platinum Dunes according to the article. The FRIDAY reboot is being directed by Marcus Nispel. (Who helmed THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE remake) (Other horror web-publications are reporting that Variety's got it wrong and that Yustman is actually cast in David Goyer's new untitled supernatural thriller.)

Lord help us on the Freddy relaunch.

GUILLERMO DEL TORO Directing THE HOBBIT!

According to The Hollywood Reporter and Ain't It Cool News, fan fave director Guillermo Del Toro will direct THE HOBBIT, in two new films. Of course, THE HOBBIT is the prequel story to the epic LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy and this new series is being produced by Peter Jackson. Horror fans are familiar with Jackson's humble beginnings with BAD TASTE and DEAD ALIVE. Del Toro is most well-know for THE DEVIL'S BACKBONE, BLADE 2, HELLBOY, MIMIC and most recently his masterpiece PAN'S LABYRINTH. Personally speaking, I'd say he's the perfect choice to carry on with the LOTR's films from Jackson!

Synopsis: Mandy Lane. Beautiful. Untouched. High school royalty waiting to be crowned. Since the dawn of Junior year, men have tried to possess her. Some have even died in reckless pursuit of this 16 year-old Texas angel.

Chloe and Red invite Mandy out to Red's family ranch for the weekend. Mandy sees it as an excellent opportunity to cement her new friendships. The boys see it as an opportunity to finally get with Mandy Lane. Driving across the Texas landscape, the kids begin to gently chip away at the wall that surrounds her. Joints are smoked. A keg is stolen off a beer truck. Pills are crushed to fine powder and inhaled. Mandy observes it all with the gentle interest of a foreign tourist. And they love her for it.

At the ranch, all the boys start to make their move -- each one hoping to be the first to attain the unattainable Mandy Lane. However, as night falls and the booze, drugs, and hormones take over, things are said and advances made which can never be reversed. Suddenly, sweet Mandy finds herself pit in a brutal struggle for survival against someone whose interest she has rejected. Forget reading, writing and arithmetic. In high school, learning to be yourself and not succumbing to peer pressure is the ultimate test. And this is one exam that Mandy is determined not to fail.

CLIVE BARKER'S HELLRAISER, Eli Roth's TRAILER TRASH Delayed...

Box Office Mojo is reporting TBA (to be announced) dates for both the upcoming remake of HELLRAISER (titled CLIVE BARKER'S HELLRAISER) and Eli Roth's full length trailer flick TRAILER TRASH. One can only assume that the writer's strike is the culprit behind the delays. Bloody-Disgusting is reporting that the HELLRAISER script needs more work. The current script was adapted by Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury, the director's of the new Pinhead venture. Read some ideas from Roth's TRAILER TRASH at our post HERE. BEYOND THE GRAVE Ready For Filming!

Lockheart Filmes, in association with V2 Cinema, is set to begin principal photography of the Brazilian horror-fantasy feature BEYOND THE GRAVE this February 14. Writer/director Davi de Oliveira Pinheiro (who’s also producing with Isidoro B. Guggiana) and crew are ready to shoot in the city of Porto Alegre. Check out the press release, along with some storyboard images below!
BEYOND THE GRAVE (aka PORTO DOS MORTOS) stars Rafael Tombini as the vengeful cop Lockheart who pursues Adam, a possessed serial killer in the wastelands of a dystopic Brazil. Among the highways of a violent world populated by the living dead, the unstoppable policeman will face his demoniac nemesis.

Photo by Luciano Amaro Valério. Movie producers Davi de Oliveira Pinheiro and Isidoro B. Guggiana.

“BEYOND THE GRAVE is very close to an art-house horror film. There is a very personal and mythological universe behind this”, says director Davi de Oliveira Pinheiro. “This is not only a Brazilian take on the zombie genre, this is shaping into something really unexpected, even to us”. The Brazilian filmmaker claims influence from the works of Sergio Leone, François Truffaut, William Friedkin, George A. Romero, Richard Stanley, Stephen King and H.P. Lovecraft, among others. “The script is a mix of everything I love about cinema and fantasy”, explains Davi. “It's a movie made with passion, heart and, a la Alejandro Jodorowsky, balls”.

The genesis of the project came from early 2005 when Davi started its development. “Since then the film has grown in scale and ambition in order to create a much more challenging experience into the horror genre”, says producer Isidoro B. Guggiana. On June 2007, the first teaser trailer was released on the Internet and the crew started the pre-production. “We assembled an enthusiastic and very talented crew in a place where genre cinema almost does not exist, says Isidoro. “The best of both worlds is at hand: a strong screenplay and creative artists that can bring those sights, sounds and words to life”. Among the talents behind the production is the artist/technician André Kapel (“Embodiment of Evil”), head of the makeup and FX department.

Storyboard by Gisele Oliveira. In this scene, Adriene faces the King of Zombies and his fellow nurses in a bloody corridor.

Really? MY BLOODY VALENTINE Gets A Release Date?

Hmm... PROM NIGHT? APRIL FOOL'S DAY? What's next.. MY BLOODY VALENTINE? Apparently so. Courtesy of Lionsgate, a remake of MY BLOODY VALENTINE is slated for release February 13th, 2009. No writer, director or cast is set yet, proving yet again that it really doesn't matter who's making it, as long as that "title" gets released to cash in on fans that recognize it. Sigh.
The original "slasher" cult-classic MY BLOODY VALENTINE was directed by George Mihalka from a script by John Beaird based on a story by Stephen A. Miller. The 1981 flick is one of the more mean-spirited "slasher" movies of that era. Give it a rental or buy.

Mulder & Scully Are BACK! First Pics From X-FILES 2!

How can this NOT make X-FILES fans giddy? The first batch of pictures of both David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reprising their roles as Agent's Mulder and Scully is on-line! X-FILES 2 will be released theatrically on July 25th, 2008 and co-stars Amanda Peet, Xzibit (?), Billy Connolly, Callum Keith Rennie and Adam Godley. Take a look at 4 photos of the duo below!

Dario Argento To Do GIALLO Next!

With MOTHER OF TEARS on the eve of it's early Spring U.S. release, horror fans are wondering what Dario Argento might tackle next? According to Variety, he'll next take "a stab at GIALLO, an English-language homage to the genre that made him a cult helmer". Cast in Argento's latest is his daughter Asia Argento and Vincent Gallo. (YES!) Ray Liotta is apparently in talks for a role as well. More details on GIALLO below, along with the link to the original article!

    http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117979149.html?categoryid=19&cs=1

"Argento's latest thriller will revolve around serial slashings of some very attractive women being investigated by a solitary cop, which Liotta is likely to play, who engages in a cat-and-mouse game with the phsychopathic perpetrator, to be played by Gallo.

Los Angeles-based Arramis Films is co-producing with Argento’s own Rome-based Opera Film shingle. "Giallo" producer is Arramis topper Rafael Primorac while Opera's Claudio Argento is the pic's co-producer.

International sales are being handled by Los Angeles-based Hannibal Pictures, headed by Richard Rionda Del Castro, which will kick off "Giallo" presales at the upcoming EFM mart in Berlin.

The screenplay is by yank scribes Jim Agnew and Sean Keller.

Shooting on "Giallo" is set to start in February in Turin, the Northern Italian city where Argento shot his most recent slasher, "The Mother of Tears," also starring Asia Argento. The Turin Piedmont Film Commission is providing production incentives.

True to its title, which means "yellow" in Italian and is the Italo term for pulpy thrillers, "Giallo" will aim to serve up the slasher thrills of Argento's cult classics of the 70's such as "The Bird with the Crystal Plumage," "Suspiria," and "Deep Red," a stage musical version of which is currently starting its tour in Italy."

Directed by the Butcher Brothers (THE HAMILTONS), the new redux stars Scout Taylor-Compton (ROB ZOMBIE's HALLOWEEN), Beau Garrett, Taylor Cole and Josh Henderson. The synopsis is below, along with the DVD front cover image. (Which I'll flat out say... sucks.)
Synopsis: Each April Fool’s Day, fabulously wealthy young Desiree Cartier (Cole) hosts the most killer coming-out parties at her to-die-for southern mansion. And this social event is never complete without one of her patented pranks. But when this year’s joke turns deadly, Desiree, her brother Blaine ( Henderson ) and five of their friends all become the targets of a twisted killer who begins hunting them down one by one in this chilling tale of seduction, betrayal and revenge.

Isn't the cover to the original more intriguing?

WANT TO BE A "FRIGHT" GIRL OF THE MONTH?!

EXCITING NEW FRIGHT FEATURE! Starting THIS month, January 2008, we’re encouraging female horror fans, models, screamqueens and actresses to submit their horror themed photographs for a chance to be selected as a FRIGHT GIRL OF THE MONTH! Each month, we will feature a new girl in the FRIGHT GIRL OF THE MONTH column. We’re reserving this coveted spot for the biggest and hottest horror fans! The benefits include exposure for up-and-coming models, actresses and just about anyone trying to make a name for themselves in the horror biz. Or it could just be something to do for fun to truly profess their love of all things FRIGHT! Read on for all the details!

All you have to do is send your pictures to frightgirls@iconsoffright.com along with your questionnaire and signed release form. All the details on how do be considered are all listed below. PLEASE read all the details carefully when making a submission. And have fun with your photos and responses to the questionnaire!

How Can YOU Be A FRIGHT GIRL OF THE MONTH?

    The rules are simple.

You must be at least 18 years of age.

All you have to do is submit a couple of high resolution images of yourself and fill out the 13 Fright Insights survey.

Feel free to be naughty and gory, but keep it PG-13 (no nudity). We encourage you to be creative, provocative and make it somewhat horror related. Meaning, you can have fun with it by re-creating something from one of your favorite horror movies. OR take some pictures with horror items from your personal collection. OR do something sexy involving special FX make-up. It’s all up to you!

ALSO important - You must download the following two word documents and return them both to us with your submissions.

The first is a questionnaire in which you’ll be asked to answer 13 questions about why you love the horror genre so much. Feel free to elaborate! Your responses will run with the pictures as your horror “stats”.

    Word Document 1: fright_girl_questions

The second word document is a release form, granting us permission to post your pictures on our site should you be selected as our FRIGHT GIRL OF THE MONTH. You must sign the release form, scan it and email it back along with the rest of your submissions to frightgirls@iconsoffright.com.

    Word Document 2: fright_girl_release

We will inform you if you’ve been picked as our FRIGHT GIRL OF THE MONTH, at which time we would also ask for proof of age through a scan of your state-issued ID.

Go crazy and have fun with it!

    FAQ:

Q: Will I be paid for this?

A: No. But the glory and honor is yours almighty Fright Girl forever and ever.

    Q: What's in the 13 Questions?

A: Stuff about horror movies you like, nothing personal. And yes, you have to answer them, and we'd love you to take your time with it because your brains smell so good...so...spicy.

Q: Should I use any particular format for the pictures?

A: JPEG, GIF, and PSD are all acceptable.

    Q: Any particular resolution?

A:  Images being accepted should be 1200x800 with a preferred resolution of 150. The minimum resolution is 125 and the max is 250. <--Someone told us this, we have no idea what we're really talking about.

    Q: So why no nudity?

A: We don't have enough lawyers to even think about including nudity on the site, and also, we think jail is a very bad place and want to stay out of there. But hey--gore? GO FOR IT!

Q: Do I REALLY have to be 18, even if I get parental permission?

A: See above regarding lawyers and jail. Also, when selected, yes, we will require a scan of your state-issued photo ID, no exceptions. (All personal information is specifically for legal reasons and is completely confidential.)

Q: How long will I be on the site?

A: If selected you will be the featured Fright Girl for a specific month. Then, your profile and picture will remain archived on the site. So pretty much you'll live forever on Icons of Fright, immortal, just like the vampires and the zombies.

SIGNAL Star Bowen Talks MAIDENHEAD With Dread!

Those fiends at Dread Central recently got the chance to have a lengthy chat with AJ Bowen, one of the leads in THE SIGNAL (opening on February 22nd, 2008 from Magnolia Pictures) and during his interview he talked about his recently completed project MAIDENHEAD, a genre offering which Bowen described as a "feature-length Twilight Zone episode; essentially it’s Psycho in reverse.” Read on for more quotes and info on the intriguing flick, as well as links to Dread's original interview!
On MAIDENHEAD, AJ Bowen told Dread's Johnny Butane, "”I co-produced and starred in a film that we shot late summer in Austin, TX called Maidenhead. It’s a friend of mine’s story; he wrote a really excellent, counter-culture script that’s a genre picture. It’s about a guy who’s taking care of his dad who just so happens to be a vampire. It’s a very atmospheric story."

Bowen stars in the flick, alongside Michael Parks (KILL BILL, FROM DUSK TILL DAWN).

A chance encounter at a laundry mat between a YOUNG MAN and YOUNG WOMAN turns into a afternoon lunch date. Eventually, the Young Man delves into a story about a birthday party whose guests began to be systematically killed off by a maniac in a white jump suit. The Young Woman, oddly enough, becomes more and more intrigued with the tale as the mayhem mounts. Is this the beginning of a beautiful relationship or a building block leading to a day ending in madness beyond fairy tales?

DEXTER SEASON ONE To Air On CBS?!

We've heard rumblings of this for a few months now, but it's official. CBS will start airing the first season of Showtime's break-out series DEXTER starting Sunday February 17th, 2008 in the 10PM time-slot. While it'll be neat that DEXTER's audience will grow, will the show still be great with it's graphic content and subject matter edited down for network television? SEASON THREE of the series is still set to debut later this year on Showtime, pending the end of the writer's strike. More details below!

    Original source: http://www.mercurynews.com/tv/ci_7903580

Since CBS is looking to fill time slots with new shows, considering the on-going writer's strike, it looks like they'll start by airing an edited version of Showtime series DEXTER on Sunday's at 10PM starting Feburary 17th.

The above article states, "The show's 12-episode first season will air on consecutive Sundays on CBS, which is a corporate cousin of Showtime. CBS officials say this is the first time a full season of a premium cable drama has made the transition to network television."

If anything, this will open up a broader audience for the series, starring Michael C. Hall in the title role. Meanwhile, SEASON THREE should be resuming later in the year on Showtime pending the end of the writer's strike. We're still awaiting word on an official release date for SEASON TWO on DVD! We'll keep you posted!

Eli Roth Talks THANKSGIVING 2 in TRAILER TRASH?!

I'm surprised no one else picked this up. In the latest January issue of EMPIRE magazine (the one with the bitchin' Joker cover!), Eli Roth talked about his latest film TRAILER TRASH, a movie made up of faux movie trailers which was inspired by his experiences working on GRINDHOUSE. Despite TRAILER TRASH being all commercials, there will be a storyline that ties all the trailers together. In the article he revealed that among the trailers we can expect, THANKSGIVING 2, BEAR WITNESS 2: KANGAROO COURT and a zombie film in which the ghouls smoke pot! Read on for some choice quotes from the article!
Eli Roth talks the inspiration behind TRAILER TRASH (which he co-wrote with his brother Gabe, Jeff Rendell and Noah Belson) with EMPIRE Magazine. He says, "I made that Thanksgiving trailer and we were laughing so hard, I was like, 'This is all I wanna do.' How can I make a movie that's as silly as Monty Python And The Holy Grail? I'm dying to."

He continues, "This can't be complete insanity for 90 minutes. We have to ground it. We've been working through several different throughlines, which give us an excuse to get in and out of the trailers and scenes from movies, and also keep it simple."

Three of Roth's coming attractions revealed...

THANKSGIVING 2 - "I'm so excited about the trailer for Thanksgiving 2 that I almost want to go right into making the film! We've got gags that are better than fucking the turkey!"

BEAR WITNESS 2: KANGAROO COURT - A sequel to the imaginary Bear Witness, in which a bear sees a Mob hit and enters the witness protection programme.

ZOMBIES ON POT - A horror spoof, in which zombies become addicted to dope - and then really get the munchies.

THE ATTIC Trailer, DVD Art and Image!

We've been provided with the trailer, synopsis, DVD cover and an image from THE ATTIC, which comes out on DVD on January 15th, 2008! The film is directed by genre vet Mary Lambert (PET SEMATARY, PET SEMATARY 2, URBAN LEGENDS: BLOODY MARY) and stars Jason Lewis, John Savage, Catherine Mary Stewart and Thomas Jay Ryan. Check out the trailer below!

The One Room In Your House You Should Never Enter Alone

THE ATTIC - A New Horror Classic Available January 15th, 2008 From the Director Of PET SEMATARY
Allumination FilmWorks is proud to announce the debut of The Attic, the spine-tingling new film from award-winning director Mary Lambert (Pet Sematary, Pet Sematary 2, Urban Legends: Bloody Mary). The DVD will be released on January 15, 2008 under Allumination’s partnership with Slamdance for a suggested price of $29.98. The Attic features a top-notch cast including Jason Lewis (“Sex and the City,” Mr. Brooks, “Brothers and Sisters”), John Savage (The Deer Hunter, Do the Right Thing, “Carnivale”), Catherine Mary Stewart (Night of the Comet, Weekend at Bernie’s) and Thomas Jay Ryan (Henry Fool, Fay Grim).

“The Attic is a classic ghost story in the tradition of The Shining and The Changeling,” says Cheryl Freeman, President and CEO of Allumination Filmworks. “The emphasis on psychological suspense has been brilliantly realized by director Mary Lambert.”

Emma (Elisabeth Moss, “The West Wing,” “Invasion”) is a troubled teen with a strong aversion toward her family’s new house - particularly the attic. After moving into their picture-perfect Victorian home, Emma and her family come to feel uncomfortable and unhappy in their new surroundings. The situation escalates one day when Emma is in the attic alone and she is viciously attacked by someone who looks exactly like her! Emma becomes convinced that someone or something is haunting her, and that her own past holds the key. As the clues pile up, Emma discovers that she once had a twin sister named Beth, who died 12 days after they were born. Emma’s fear intensifies when she realizes that she can’t turn to her family for answers, and she begins to suspect that it may be Beth determined to destroy anyone who dares delve into the dark mysteries of The Attic.

Is FREDDY Finally Coming Back? ALSO - Freddy Vs Jason Vs Ash Issue 3 Out!

Is FREDDY KRUEGER finally coming back to the big screen? Bloody-Disgusting is reporting they got an insider to reveal that New Line is currently developing a new NIGHTMARE film and NOT a sequel to 2003's FREDDY VS JASON. Makes sense to focus on solo movies considering New Line's plan to relaunch Jason Voorhees in their upcoming FRIDAY THE 13th movie later this year. (Being helmed by TEXAS CHAINSAW director Marcus Nispen) Check out THIS link to check out B-D's full story. Also, because of the New Year holiday, comic book releases were delayed until Friday. FREDDY VS JASON VS ASH Issue Number 3 came out this week! Check out the cover below!

THE POUGHKEEPSIE TAPES Trailer Added To ICONS Video!

MGM has informed us that THE POUGHKEEPSIE TAPES, originally slated for release this February has been pushed to the forth quarter of the year. (Most likely Oct-Nov) We've just uploaded the trailer to the film on ICONS video, so you can check it out in our video section or embedded below, along with the synopsis!

SYNOPSIS: In 2001, police in Poughkeepsie New York made a shocking discovery—ten bodies buried in the backyard of a residential house. Astonishingly, that was only the beginning.

Inside the home, police uncovered over 800 neatly organized videotapes detailing the exploits of one man’s decade-long crime spree. The most disturbing part of the find, was that the killer had filmed all of the footage himself—from his first moments stalking his victims to their last seconds alive.

THE POUGHKEEPSIE TAPES examines the homicides—incorporating interviews from criminal experts, testimony from the only victim ever rescued alive, and chilling footage shot from the killer's own camera. All of which document the twisted path of a serial killer as never before.

Beginning in 1988, a wave of missing person reports and unsolved murders from New York to Pennsylvania, began to alarm law enforcement officials. Many of the strange disappearances and dead victims held similarities. Soon the authorities realized they were dealing with a serial killer. The hunt to identify and capture the killer was layered with troubling facts and haunting events, eventually ending at the house where the tapes were found. Unfortunately, the discovery left more questions than answers. Did the killer leave the tapes intentionally? Do the tapes hold hidden clues? Is he still active?

This film dares to show what has never been presented to the public before—the evidence, the puzzle, and the footage of THE POUGHKEEPSIE TAPES.

Neil Marshall's DOOMSDAY Coming To Theaters March 14th, 2008!

Filmmaker Neil Marshall (THE DESCENT, DOG SOLDIERS) revealed on his My Space Blog (officially) that his next film, the apocalyptic DOOMSDAY, starring Rhona Mitra, Malcolm McDowell and Bob Hopkins will be released here in the US on March 14th, 2008 courtesy of Universal Pictures! Considering how much the entire ICONS staff loved both THE DESCENT and DOG SOLDIERS, count us excited for DOOMSDAY!

    RESIDENT EVIL: DEGENERATION Trailer!

Honestly, I'll be the first to admit I don't know much about RESIDENT EVIL. Saw the first movie, didn't like it at all, never bothered checking out the sequels. But apparently, on the new DVD for RESIDENT EVIL: EXTINCTION, you'll find the trailer for RESIDENT EVIL: DEGENERATION, an upcoming all CGI movie that Sony Pictures and Capcom have planned for release in 2008. According to the You Tube link where the video comes from, "Resident Evil: Degeneration will be the first film of the saga generated entirely by computer after the latest deliveries carried out by Milla Jovovich."

    PROM NIGHT Trailer... Ohhhh Boy.

Here's the trailer for remake of PROM NIGHT, the classic 1980's slasher. The original film featured a crazy person on the rampage and a bad disco soundtrack. The remake features Britney Spears on the soundtrack, so I guess, hey, what's changed? It opens April 11th and... oh yeah, it's also rated PG-13! Have a look if you dare! I'd rather stay home and watch HELLO MARY LOU: PROM NIGHT 2 on April 11th.

    KINCAID NEEDS YOUR HELP!

FRIGHT friend Ken Sagoes (Kincaid from the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET sequels) informed us that he's doing a walk-a-thon for charity in March for the Giving Back Corporation and wanted to get the word out to horror fans! He's offering his autograph to any fans who make a small donation! (Which we think is awesome!) He encourages people to donate and get in touch via his My Space page! All the details are below, including links to his My Space page and our original interview with him!
Ken Sagoes official My Space page: http://www.myspace.com/officialkincaid

"One of the true nightmare on any street, is for a young person not to have the tools it takes to further their education." F*&%in' A, - walking 26.2 miles will be harder than kickin' that burnt-face Freddy Krueger's ass all over dreamland.

On Sunday, March 2, 2008, Ken Sagoes aka "Kincaid" from "A Nightmare on Elm Street, III and IV" will walk in the Los Angeles Marathon to raise funds for GBC-Giving Back Corporation. GBC is a 501(c)3 organization he started in 1997, to help support young inner city students to further their education and to acknowledge those who paved the way for others to follow.

Over the years, Ken has helped over 300 young people with their supplies and books, sent kids to summer camp, helped teachers with supplies for their classrooms and paid for tutoring for students who have had problems with subjects.

Sagoes says, "I believe in giving back, because I was one of those young people who did not have. Then, someone made a sacrifice for me. Therefore, I am not just asking for your support, I am walking to EARN your support."

You can help by making a donation from now until March 3 for as little as $1.00 to GBC-GIVING BACK CORPORATION. If you make a donation of .25 cents of more per mile, Ken will send you a color 5x7 autographed photo of him walking the marathon, PERSONALLY signed to you. If you make a donation of .50 cents of more per mile, Ken will send you a color 8x10 autographed photo of him walking the marathon, personally signed to you. During the walk on March 2, 2008, you can go online at the Los Angeles XIII Marathon website and see what mile Ken is on at anytime during his journey.
