STUART GORDON'S STUCK! TRAILER AND POSTER!

The poster and trailer for the latest film by STUART GORDON has made it's way on line! STUCK (coming to you from Rigel Entertainment) stars Mena Suvari, Stephen Rea and Russell Hornsby. Read on to check out the poster, read the synopsis and follow the link to the trailer!

Synopsis: Inspired by true events, acclaimed director Stuart Gorden (Re-Animator, From Beyond, Dragon) delivers the intense, psychologically dark thriller, Stuck starring Mena Suvari (Rumor Has It, American Beauty) and Academy Award-nominee Stephen Rea (V for Vendetta, Breakfast on Pluto, The Crying Game), about two unlikely opponents thrown together in a macabre set of circumstances.

As Brandi drives home from a club after a night on the town, she doesn’t see the man crossing the street in front of her, his head down, paying no attention to the traffic lights. Brandi’s car hits him head on, Tom is lifted off the ground, thrown across the hood, and smashes head first through the windshield as sharp shards of glass cut into him, holding him fast. In complete panic, Brandi accelerates with Tom’s broken torso drumming on the engine hood, as she heads for home...

MGM releases limited edition Bubba Ho-Tep with Elvis inspired packaging

The Shady Rest retirement home is about to get a new resident: a broken-down and eccentric old geezer claiming to be the King Of Rock N Roll himself! Cult icon Bruce Campbell (The Evil Dead Trilogy, Spider-Man 3) stars as Elvis Presley in Bubba Ho-Tep, returning to DVD on August 7 in a new Limited Edition, with new collectible packaging based on Presley’s own white leather jumpsuit. Campbell swings his feeble hips and joins forces with the late, great Ossie Davis (Grumpy Old Men, Do The Right Thing) – who plays a decrepit and black President John “Jack” Kennedy – to combat a blood-sucking mummy in this “wildly creative amusement” (Premiere) from screenwriter/director Don Coscarelli (Phantasm, The Beastmaster). Based on the Bram Stoker Award-nominated short story by cult author Joe R. Lansdale, Bubba Ho-Tep garnered Second Place for Best International Film at the Fant-Asia Film Festival and was nominated for Best Screenplay by the Online Film Critics Society. The Bubba Ho-Tep Limited Edition features commentary by Coscarelli and Campbell, as well as a separate commentary by “The King” himself, Joe R. Lansdale reading from his own short story, deleted scenes with optional commentary, animated photo gallery and production featurettes.

HATCHET GETS AN R RATING!!! IN THEATERS SEPT 7TH!!!

Today the MPAA officially gave HATCHET an "R" rating, thus eliminating any rumors or speculation that the original "NC-17" rating would effect the upcoming national theatrical run. The "R" rating is for "extreme gory bloody horror violence, sexual conduct, nudity and language". After a 2 month long process involving an appeal and multiple submissions to the ratings board, the film is finally in it's home stretch.
From writer/director ADAM GREEN: "A big THANKS to everyone for their continued support and enthusiasm. Mainstream Hollywood claims that the fans will only support remakes and PG-13 horror at the box office these days. I hope that on September 7th we prove them wrong." HATCHET will open in theaters across America on September 7th. To make sure that the film is playing where YOU want it, visit the fan-run HATCHET ARMY page (www.myspace.com/hatchetarmy) and start making some noise today.

Don't forget to check out our FRIGHT exclusive interview with HATCHET writer/director ADAM GREEN! Click the frame below and it will open in a new window:

SAW IV! Teaser poster and First Word from Darren Lynn Bousman and Tobin Bell!

Earlier this week a number of horror websites started running the first teaser art for SAW IV, due out this October 26th courtesy of the fine folks at Lionsgate. Well, below is that poster, as well as a few tidbits that Shock Till You Drop uncovered from director Darren Lynn Bousman and JIGSAW himself Tobin Bell! Read on for the full scoop!
Everyone has been speculating about the plot of SAW IV. Some sites are running a synopsis that the film takes place directly after the end of SAW 3, where Jeff (as played by Angus Macfadyen) must find his daughter and escape the building where Jigsaw met his end. Shock Till You Drop's Ryan Rotten got the scoop directly from director Bousman himself.

"Nobody knows what this is about," Bousman said. "Every plot synopsis you've read online is false and untrue. The thing with Macfadyen looking for his daughter? Believe it if you want. But no one knows what this story is."

Tobin Bell added "You find out why I'm back in the very first scene. Why I'm back and why I'm around." And why should audiences come back for another movie? Because of "a tremendous ending," added Bell.

Go to the following link for the entire article, including a tidbit on how violent the film might end up being!

One of the most interesting and unique genre related films I've seen this year was ALONE WITH HER, which stars Colin Hanks as Doug, a lonely, socially inept young man who becomes obsessed with Amy (played by the beautiful Ana Claudia Talancon). Hostel II Flops: Tortured At Box Office By Penguins

Audiences are leaving plenty of empty beds at the "Hostel" this weekend.

Source: Box Office Mojo:

Eli Roth's "Hostel, part II" is opening to mostly disappointing numbers. Friday estimates from "Box Office Mojo" saw "Hostel, part II" opening up in 6th place with just $3.1 million, and estimates are coming in that it should only pull somewhere around $9 million, nearly half the $19 that "Hostel" took (and only just over the opening weekend for Roth's "Cabin Fever"). It's not all bad news, it's only got a $10 million budget but probably a huge disappointment for Lionsgates considering the heavy promotion.

Fair is fair thought and "Hostel II" is up against some big movies this weekend, including Ocean's 13 and another CGI penguin party called "Surf's Up". Lionsgate probably should have learned it's lesson 2 years ago when it dumped "The Devil's Rejects" out on a summer audience only to see it mostly rejected by theatergoers. Guess not...
