FRIGHT EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW - ACTOR NATHAN BAESEL!

Just added! Our FRIGHT exclusive interview with LESLIE VERNON himself, actor NATHAN BAESEL from BEHIND THE MASK: THE RISE OF LESLIE VERNON!

Actor Nathan Baesel began his acting education by attending Fullerton College where he graduated with an AA. He completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Theater at U.C.L.A. where he became a founding member of Theater Mitu, the L.A. born and New York based Theater Company created by Ruben Polendo. At The Julliard School in New York he was awarded the Liz Smith prize for voice and speech and turned down the lead in a Broadway production to finish his final year of training.

Moving back to the LA area, Nathan became involved with the acclaimed theater South Coast Repertory, where he starred in several productions. After various guest-starring roles in television, he landed his first starring role last year playing Lewis Sirk, the one-armed deputy in ABC’s sci-fi drama INVASION (created by Shaun Cassidy). While this role won him many admirers for his textured, affecting performance, look for his visibility to soar next month when his first leading role in a feature film hits the big screen! Playing the title role in Anchor Bay’s release of BEHIND THE MASK: THE RISE OF LESLIE VERNON, the film has received some of the greatest acclaim of any genre film in decades, with raves for Mr. Baesel always the standout of any review. FRIGHT EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW - DIRECTOR SCOTT GLOSSERMAN

Just added! Our FRIGHT exclusive interview with Director SCOTT GLOSSERMAN, the filmmaker who made BEHIND THE MASK: THE RISE OF LESLIE VERNON!

Expect to be hearing a lot more about director Scott Glosserman after his debut feature, Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon, opens in theaters March 16. Set in a fictional world where killers like Krueger, Voorhees and Myers are real and revered like baseball legends, Vernon is the story of a young, amiable slasher-in-training, letting a documentary crew cover his ascent to ‘success’…all the while deftly deconstructing why he does what he does, and showing the audience there’s more than meets the eye when it comes to random slashing and stalking. It’s smart, it’s funny, it’s scary, it’s one of the best-reviewed films you will find, by genre and non-genre critic alike. But don’t take our word for it. Ask anyone who’s seen it. Scott was kind enough to take a LOT of time to tell us about seeing this modern classic/Valentine to the genre archetypes though to fruition. FRIGHT EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW - FILMMAKER JAMES FELIX MCKENNEY!

Just added! Our FRIGHT exclusive interview with filmmaker JAMES FELIX MCKENNEY. (AUTOMATONS, THE OFF SEASON, CANNIBALISTIC!)

One has to give innovative director James Felix McKenney credit, you can’t say his films look or seem like anyone else’s. A Sci-Fi/horror buff with a nuts-and-bolts backyard aesthetic and a bizarre yet welcome sense of humor, James’ debut film CANNIBALISTIC! melds deadpan satire with the tender story of a flesh-eating vegetarian (you’ll see) who just wants to be left alone so he can get back to nature.

His follow-up film, a one-room ghost story THE OFF SEASON brought a welcome character change to screen villain Angus Scrimm and was the debut film of director/producer Larry Fessenden’s SCAREFLIX (a line of low-budget unique indie horror films in the vein of Roger Corman) line.

For his third film, director McKenney changed gears for his black and white Super-8 sci-fi parable AUTOMATONS, depicting warring robots in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, which isn’t too far from our own world. Much darker and more grim than his two first films combined, and yet a child of such cardboard 1960’s sci-fi shows like Space:1999 and Doctor Who, AUTOMATONS has drawn raves from publications such as The New York Times , New York Post and the Village Voice. James granted us an interview as he preps his fourth film, one that sounds worth it from just the title alone…SATAN HATES YOU! Click the frame below to read his FRIGHT exclusive interview!
