2014 Bakersfield Clown Invasion finds its way into fictional CLOWTOWN film; Hitting theaters in Sept. & VOD/DVD in October!

In 2014, a group of pranksters, attempting to do a work of art involving scaring the hell out of the residents of Bakersfield, CA (my backyard) and holy hell did it work. They were found sitting on bus stops holding weapons, standing on corners holding balloons, you name it, they did it, and that terrifying idea of theirs just SCREAMED “We can make a genre film, with this premise and turn in on its heads!”, so when I got the press release for CLOWNTOWN today, a film that is based on the Bakersfield events, I was instantly excited to share it with you fright fanatics! The film, which recently announced its acquisition by ITN Distribution Co., will roll out in theaters starting September 30, 2016 and on VOD and DVD on October 4, 2016.

Personally, I’m scared and excited for this one, what do you all think?

CLOWNTOWN tells the story of a group of friends who get stranded in a seemingly abandoned town and find themselves stalked by a gang of violent psychopaths dressed as clowns. It is loosely inspired by the clowns who terrorized Bakersfield, CA in 2014.
