10 CLOVERFIELD LANE Heading to DVD/Bluray This June;Digital HD Hits Even Sooner

Paramount_1988_Communications10 CLOVERFIELD LANE did quite a number on filmgoers, accomplishing the exact opposite of what audiences were expecting. Was it going to be a shaky as all hell sequel to Matt Reeves’ 2008 masterpiece (yeah, I said it, it’s kind of wonderful in every way)? Where would the film pick up and what would be in store for the trio shown in the film’s trailer? What we DID get, was a genre drama so full of award-worthy performances and one of the rare sequels (or “Spiritual sequels” as they’re often labelled) that blows the first film out of the water. That’s quite the bold statement coming from this write, due to my undying adoration for the 2008 original (In one of the many bands I used to play in, we even wrote a song called “Dear Beth”, a tune written from the original film’s protagonist’s point of view, I’m really that lame). Taking John Goodman (in a seriously game-changing performance, John Gallagher, Jr. and FAULTS star Mary Elizabeth Winstead, the film gives off such a claustrophobic vibe, that it will leave you having a panic attack,….and that’s all before one of the coolest endings around transpires. The crew over at Paramount are sending the panic attack in the form of a DVD/Bluray your way, when 10 CLOVERFIELD LANE hits Digital HD on May 31, 2016 and Blu-ray™ Combo Pack on June 14. Trust me, fright fanatics, don’t redbox this one, put your shows on, grab your car keys and GO BUY IT when it’s released, it’s so good.

After a catastrophic car crash, a young woman (Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World) wakes up in a survivalist’s (John Goodman, ARGO) underground bunker. He claims to have saved her from an apocalyptic attack that has left the outside world uninhabitable. His theories are supported by a mysterious stranger who is in the bunker with them (John Gallagher, Jr., HUSH, SHORT TERM 12,“The Newsroom”), but as his increasingly suspicious actions lead her to question his motives, she’ll have to escape in order to discover the truth.
