M Night Shyamalan’s Blumhouse hit THE VISIT Goes Digital HD in December, Bluray/DVD Combo in January

universalWhile director M. Night Shyamalan’s last few movies didn’t exactly please theatergoers are much as his early work did, this year’s surprise hit THE VISIT did a great job showing audiences that he has quite a few tricks still up his sleeve. The found footage-like film (starring Kathryn Hahn, Ed Oxenbould, Olivia DeJonge, Peter McRobbie and Deanna Dunagan), co-produced by Universal and Blumhouse, was a pleasantly eerie look at what happens when two young kids go to spend some time with their grandparents and begin to notice some interestingly odd behavior.

It’s now been announced that THE VISIT is set to be unleashed into your homes, when it hits Digital HD on December 15, and a Blu-ray/DVD combo as well as On Demand on January 5, 2016. While the film itself makes the combo worth picking up, the Bluray/DVD also is packed with an alternate ending, deleted scenes and a making of as well.

When Becca and Tyler (Ed Oxenbould, Olivia DeJonge) are sent to their grandparents’ secluded Pennsylvania farmhouse for a week long stay, they quickly discover something is not right with the elderly couple. Faced with strange rules and increasingly frightening behavior, the children soon realize it will take all their wits to make it home alive.
