ALIEN: PARADISE LOST Becomes ALIEN: COVENANT; Official Synopsis Revealed!

ALIENWhen it comes to ALIEN news, very few stories have changed as much as Ridley Scott’s has. Somewhere between PROMETHEUS and now, we’ve gotten news that he was going to fully return to the ALIEN universe in ways that a lot of us hoped he would with the 2012 film. That eventually led to him saying it wouldn’t connect to the universe that he gave us with 1979’s ALIEN, then it would connect and would not only be called ALIEN: PARADISE LOST but would be the second part in an ALIEN prequel trilogy. Well, it’s now official,  ALIEN: PARADISE LOST has been renamed ALIEN: COVENANT and will hit theaters on October 6th, 2017.

The crew at 20th Century Fox sent us the official synopsis for the film. What do you fright fanatics think? Will this one be what fans hoped for with PROMETHEUS, or should Fox have focused on the amazing sounding Neill Blomkamp ALIEN/ALIENS sequel that would see the return of Ripley, Hicks and Newt, but was put on the back-burner for this one?

Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in ALIEN with ALIEN: COVENANT, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with PROMETHEUS — and connects directly to Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
