This is one that we’re extremely excited to mention. The gang at Deadline reported earlier today that SCHERZO DIABOLICO, the new film from HERE COMES THE DEVIL/LATE PHASES director Adrian Garcia Bogliano, has now found a home with the fine folks at Dark Sky Films. Having seen the film earlier this year during its festival run, it’s definitely one that has the Icons of Fright stamp of approval, with the kidnapping-gone-wrong film being one of the most original and shocking films of its kind in a long, long time. It’s a wild ride, filled with great performances by Francisco Barreiro, Daniela Soto Vell and Jorge Molina.
Aram is a wearied accountant with an unbearably dull existence. With a nagging wife who berates him for not being assertive enough, and a measly paycheck, he quietly suffers while awaiting a long-deserved promotion. But there’s more to Aram than his mild-mannered demeanor lets on: he has been secretly devising a scheme to finally get what he feels he is owed. One day he asserts his power menacingly when he kidnaps a schoolgirl and keeps her tied up in an abandoned warehouse. What seems like the perfect plan soon unravels into his worst nightmare, and his carefully constructed scheme comes crashing down piece by bloody piece.
DARK SKY FILMS will be sending SCHERZO DIABOLICO to theaters in 2016.
