Pirate Commentary: A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 2: FREDDY’S REVENGE

Doing a pirate commentary with this guy just screams “fun!”, right? Right?!

elmstreet2There’s nothing better than knocking back a few drinks with friends (I opt for some water or Dr. Pepper most of the time), eating some good pizza and enjoying an entertaining horror film, especially if it’s one that you hold pretty close to your heart. While it has found its audience more in the last few years than it had prior to that, Jack Sholder’s 1985 A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 2: FREDDY’S REVENGE was somewhat of an oddity to genre fans, with its male scream queen angle and some tampering with the rules set up by Wes Craven in the first Freddy horror-fest, 1984’s A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET. It’s quite different than the first film, and is led by a very memorable performance by Mark Patton, who would go on to retire from acting soon after the film was released.

Personally, it’s my 2nd favorite film in the series, and one that I have enjoyed watching since I was a little kid. I thought it would be fun to invite my good bud Ken over to record a brand new Pirate Commentary for the film, and I was right. It was definitely a blast to sit down and talk about why we love the sequel to one of the best horror films of all time, and the many different factors that have always made FREDDY’S REVENGE such a great time and easily one of our favorite horror films of all time.

Feel free to either stream the commentary below or better yet, you can download it by right-clicking here. We hope you enjoy it, and if you have any recommendations on films you’d like to see a pirate commentary for, feel free to sound off and let us know!

*This is recorded to the Bluray release of the film, which works with either the ANOES Pts. 2/3 Bluray double feature or the ANOES Bluray boxset.
