There wasn’t a single film that I loved in the last few years than Benson/Moorhead’s RESOLUTION. From the first time I saw it, it was a special film and one I already consider one of my all time favorites. When their follow-up, the Lou Taylor Pucci (who was easily the best part of THE EVIL DEAD remake)-led SPRING made waves during its festival run, though I don’t know Benson/Moorhead on a personal level, it made me happy as hell (which I’ve heard is a happy place?) for them. When Drafthouse Films picked the film up, it was equally awesome to hear. Just based on the strength on RESOLUTION, I’ve got those guys’ backs till the end (I thought I’d make it sound dramatic sounding), so I’m happy to let you fright fanatics know that Drafthouse is set to unleash the hybrid romantic horror film to theaters and VOD on March 20th, and hear you me, if you don’t go see it, I might kick your grandma in the shins. Right in the shins guys, so be sure to congratulate those guys on the release of SPRING, and by all means, WATCH IT on March 20th.
“Evan (Lou Taylor Pucci, Evil Dead, Thumbsucker) is a young American fleeing to Europe to escape his past. While backpacking along the Italian coast, everything changes during a stop at an idyllic Italian village, where he meets and instantly connects with the enchanting and mysterious Louise. A flirtatious romance begins to bloom between the two – however, Evan soon realizes that Louise has been harboring a monstrous, primordial secret that puts both their relationship and their lives in jeopardy.
A beautiful, fluid genre-bender from Benson and Moorhead, Spring is an unforgettable romance of mythical proportions.”
