It seems that in between filming a role in the final season of Sons of Anarchy, playing songs with Johnny Depp, and various other things, Marilyn Manson has recorded a brand new album. Titled “The Pale Emperor,” Manson gave fans a glimpse of what’s in store with the album, by releasing the brand new “Third Day of a Seven Day Binge” track, and from the sound of it, The Pale Emperor just might be quite the album.
“Third Day of a Seven Day Binge” kicks off with an immediate groove, before clean guitars enter and Manson enters with his trademark vocals. It sounds almost like a hybrid of the Eat Me, Drink Me and The High End of Low, both of which were pretty awesome in my opinion. “I’ve got bullets in the booth, I’d rather be your victim than be with you” is a recurring line in the song, and the more the song goes on, while the music stays the same for the most part, Manson’s vocals get more and more intense, making this one one of the better songs to have been released by Manson in quite some time.
Marilyn Manson’s “The Pale Emperor” hits stores on January 20th via Loma Vista Recordings/Concord Music Group.
