Lionsgate Sends Stephen King Story-Inspired BIG DRIVER To DVD/Digital This January!

unnamed (1)After making waves at Lifetime, the folks at Lionsgate are now gearing up to bring the Mikael Salomon-directed BIG DRIVER to DVD (and Digital) on January 27th. Based on a Stephen King short story of the same name, the Richard Christian Matheson-penned film first made its premiere on the Lifetime channel of all places, but still looked like a revenge-filled good time. Revolving around a novelist seeking revenge against a serial killer who brutally attacked her, BIG DRIVER has a solid cast and look like it could very well be a decent adaption of the King story.

A good amount of King’s work has been getting the film adaptions lately, with both BIG DRIVER and A GOOD MARRIAGE each making their mark on TV, and a handful of King’s novels being turned into theatrical films as well, it seems good ol’ Uncle Stevie isn’t slowing down anytime soon.

“Tess Thorne, a famous writer, faces a long drive home following a book signing. While driving on a lonely New England road, her tire blows out, leaving her stranded. Relieved when another driver stops and offers assistance, Tess quickly discovers her savior is actually a serial killer who repeatedly assaults her. She is determined to find her rapist and seek revenge, as payback is the only thing holding her together.”

BIG DRIVER stars Maria Bello, Ann Dowd, Will Harris, Joan Jett and Olympia Dukakis.

BIG DRIVER heads to DVD (and Digital) on January 26th, via Lionsgate.
