SAW Returns To Theaters This Halloween For 10th Anniversary; Group of New Posters Revealed

Saw_posterIt’s hard to believe that it’s been ten years since James Wan’s SAW first hit theaters, creating a massive franchise for Lionsgate, and making a household name out of Wan and frequent collaborator Leigh Whannell. Say what you will about the later sequels, but it’s impossible to deny that 2004’s SAW came out of nowhere and hit HARD. It inspired not only the entire series, but many other films that followed the trend set by the first, very original film.

Now a decade later, Lionsgate is bringing Jigsaw back, when they roll out a 10th anniversary theatrical re-release of SAW, beginning October 31st (with some midnight showings on October 30th in certain areas). While I’m not a massive fan of the series, I really enjoy the first and third films in the series, and couldn’t be more excited about revisiting the original film on the big screen again.

“With a dead body lying between them, two men wake up in the secure lair of a serial killer who’s been nicknamed “Jigsaw”. The men must follow various rules and objectives if they wish to survive and win the deadly game set for them.”

To get people excited for the re-release, Lionsgate has begun to put out a series of posters to hype it up, and though they have all featured the Amanda in the bear trap image, each one gives the image its own artistic spin. So far, two out of the five posters have been released, the second poster having been designed by TAZ, who was responsible for a lot of of the special edition posters for the series.
