For residents of the Los Angeles area, Jumpcut Cafe and (in this writer’s opinion) the best horror podcast available, Killer POV, have a treat for you. Jeremy Gardner took the independent film scene by storm with his horror-drama, THE BATTERY. An insanely impressive directorial debut, THE BATTERY is without a doubt the proof of a dynamite filmmaker in the making. Oozing with originality and a truly one of a kind film, THE BATTERY defines what it is to be a “must-see film.
The most impressive looking $6000 film you’ll ever get the honor of witnessing, THE BATTERY follows the story of two former baseball players, Ben (Jeremy Gardner) and Mickey (Adam Cronheim), as they travel the back-roads of Connecticut after a zombie apocalypse has overtaken the entire New England area. Polar opposite in personality and often alienated with each other, the two men try to stay calm in the face of pure doom and turmoil.
Killer POV and Jumpcut Cafe are comprised of some of the greatest minds in the horror industry, and they’ve graciously offered the opportunity for Los Angeles residents to see this fantastic film, FOR FREE. No gimmicks. No catch. 100% FREE MOVIE SCREENING. The film will be introduced by genre golden boy, AJ Bowen. It’s a free movie, correction, FABULOUS FREE MOVIE, and AJ Bowen. If you’re in the Los Angeles area and don’t attend this screening, I will personally glove-slap you through the internet. Considering I’m forever stuck in the cultural wasteland that is Ohio, I will unfortunately not be in attendance. I expect at least room capacity to attend on my behalf.
