Unlike romantic-comedies or adult dramas, the horror genre may resemble a cult-like community when in actuality, we’re more like a family. Horror conventions take place all throughout the year and it gives an opportunity for creators, actors, and fans to come together in a celebration of what for many, defined a life. Filmmaker Kyle Kuchta presents his documentary FANTASM, which aims to explore the culture of horror conventions and why it is we flock to them so religiously. FANTASM will have its world premiere at the 10th annual Rock and Shock in Worcester, MA this Saturday, October 19. Presented by cult film webcast Outside the Cinema, Kuchta will be in attendance to introduce the film, and he’ll be at the Outside the Cinema booth all weekend. Today, the first clip of FANTASM was released and you can watch it right here at Icons of Fright!
Following Rock and Shock, FANTASM will also be screened at Philip H. Anselmo’s Housecore Horror Film Festival in Austin, TX on October 25 and at Rhode Island Comic Con in Providence, RI on November 3.
