I, FRANKENSTEIN Strikes A Pose In Debut Motion Poster!

After some serious release date shuffles, Lionsgate has finally chosen January 14th, 2014 as the official nationwide opening for I, FRANKENSTEIN! Based on Kevin Grevioux’s (the giant lycan Raze from UNDERWORLD) graphic novel, Aaron Eckhart stars as the titular monster who is caught in a war between gargoyles & demons. We’ve got a motion poster below which sports the first official look at the film below.

So, basically it’s UNDERWORLD with Frankenstein in place of Kate Beckinsale’s Selena. No surprise since it’s from the producers of the franchise (I smell a potential crossover?); I guess I can dig it. January seems to be a coveted spot of genre films for Lionsgate since TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D had a $21 million opening earlier this year.

Have you read the graphic novel? Looking forward to the film? Let us know in the comments!

Synopsis: Set in a dystopic present where vigilant gargoyles and ferocious demons rage in a battle for ultimate power, Victor Frankenstein’s creation Adam (Aaron Eckhart) finds himself caught in the middle as both sides race to discover the secret to his immortality. From the creators of the hit supernatural saga, UNDERWORLD, comes the action thriller I, FRANKENSTEIN, written for the screen and directed by Stuart Beattie based on the graphic novel “I, Frankenstein” by Kevin Grevioux, and brought to life by a cast that includes Aaron Eckhart, Bill Nighy, Yvonne Strahovski, Miranda Otto, Jai Courtney, Socratis Otto, Mahesh Jadu, Caitlin Stasey and Aden Young as Victor Frankenstein.

As soon as you mentioned Grevioux’s name, for some reason I read the rest of the post with his voice in my head.
