Douglas Schulze’s MIMESIS was a film that caught me off guard. To be honest, I didn’t think I’d like it, and was pleasantly shocked when not only did I REALLY enjoy it (review), but also spent a lot of time thinking about it after it was over. It’s a good look at how far some “fans” will go in order to get closer to a real life horror film. Judging from how well received the film has been with horror fans, this news should bring smiles across plenty of faces.
“Zombie Fans in select cities across the US are getting a special treat this month as MIMESIS: NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD will screen in Houston, Texas, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Flint, Michigan at special Zombie Walk Sponsored events. The Houston, Myrtle Beach and Flint Zombie Walks are each hosting special event screenings that promise plenty of surprises and giveaways.
The George Romero zombie homage is already a Best Seller on DVD & VOD for Anchor Bay Entertainment and stars screen veterans Sid Haig and Courtney Gains, who encounter a group of horror fans hell-bent on living out their favorite cult classic. MIMESIS was written and directed by Douglas Schulze, who is currently developing the sequel that is expected to go into production this fall.”
