MTV’s SCREAM Pilot Greenlit For Summer 2014!

MTV had announced they were developing a television series based around Wes Craven’s SCREAM franchise around this time last year, and now it looks like they’re gearing up to actually make it a reality. MTV’s just greenlit a pilot centered around the slasher series that will proposedly air in Summer 2014. No word on casting, director, or general plot except expect Ghostface to return.

Since SCREAM 5 doesn’t look to be happening anytime soon, could this be a small screen sequel or a complete reboot? Would you want to see Neve Campbell and the gang return to their familiar roles? I’m sure it goes without saying having this air on MTV hurts it’s chances with the horror community already, but if Wes Craven is involved in some capacity I’d like to be believe I’m on board.

What say you Fright Fiends?

  1. This is pretty neat to hear about,
and I would gladly watch the pilot. Scream was amazing, and I work at DISH with
Craven fans that would be happy to watch the pilot, too. If it’s as suspenseful
as the movies, I’ll save the entire season to my DISH Hopper to enjoy the episodes
a few times each. I don’t have to be so picky with my TV lineup like I used to,
since my hard drive stores up to 2,000 hours of entertainment.
