If you’re anything like me, you may have a preconceived notion of what a trip to Las Vegas may have to offer. VEGAS, BABY! Drinking, gambling, shows, wandering the strip in a stranger’s underwear at 3 am…you know, Vegas! However, there has been a new addition to the attractions that abound the tourist trap that is the strip that may change your perspective just a wee bit.
As horror freaks, our favorite time of year falls between September and November when most of the Halloween themed events happen around the country. You have your Knotts Scary Farm and your Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights. And now, joining that list is Eli Roth’s Goretorium.
The Goretorium opened on September 27, 2012 in Las Vegas and has one slight difference from the other events I previously mentioned. This thing is a year round attraction! And leave it up to Eli Roth, this place fits right into the Las Vegas aesthetic by combining the latest technology with old-fashioned scares to create the world’s most intense haunt.
Goretorium is a self-guided multi-level fright maze that submerges guests into the tale of Sin City’s most deadly and mythical hotel and casino: The Delmont. The legend of the hotel is a frightening one, and details the exploits of a depraved family who come across a series of texts depicting dark and ancient rituals to attain immortality. The family enacts the horrible rituals using hotel guests who could not pay their debts. Coercing employees into partaking in the slaughter as the sinister community of killers reaped enjoyment from the torture and dismemberment of their victims. More often than not, to add to the twisted ambiance, even hotel guests would be unknowingly fed leftover flesh from the sickening sacrifices.
The deeds that took place within the depths of the Delmont’s basement were soon uncovered by authorities and the resulting raid saw most, if not all, employees commit suicide by jumping from the top stories. Now you can explore and see firsthand the carnage that took place in the basements, tour room to room and discover the horrors produced by the insidious Delmonts in this original story straight from the mind of Eli Roth himself!
After (IF) you’ve survived the tour, you will emerge to one amazing view of the central Las Vegas Strip in the aptly titled “Baby Dolls Lounge”! There’s a variety of gruesomely themed cocktails for you to drown your fears in and let’s not forget the caged zombie dancers and the live feedings!
