I honestly can’t remember the last time I was excited to see a vampire movie. Aside from Matt Reeves’ LET THE RIGHT ONE IN remake LET ME IN, there hasn’t been anything having to do with fanged characters that has made me want to do anything other than shoot myself, but that definitely looks like it’s about to change with Xan Cassavetes’s KISS OF THE DAMNED. It looks like a film that returns to the days before vamps became completely non-dangerous sparkly high school students. Well lucky for us, and thanks to the folks at JoBlo , a new red band trailer for the film has been released, and you can definitely color me excited.
“With her narrative feature debut, Xan Cassavetes (Z CHANNEL: A MAGNIFICENT OBSESSION) has crafted a stylish and sensory visual and aural experience that recalls the best of smart and racy European genre films from the 60s and 70s. KISS OF THE DAMNED is the story of Djuna (Joséphine de La Baume), a beautiful vampire who tries to resist the advances of the handsome, human screenwriter Paulo (Milo Ventimiglia), but eventually gives in to temptation. When her troublemaker sister Mimi (Roxane Mesquida) arrives unexpectedly, Djuna’s love story is threatened and the whole vampire community becomes endangered.”
KISS OF THE DAMNED arrives onto VOD March 28th, with a theatrical run beginning May 3rd.
Looks pretty awesome to me, what do you Fright Fiends think?
