I did not like GHOST RIDER: GHOST OF VENGEANCE much, but it was definitely a step up from the first GHOST RIDER film, and I think the slight improvements it made were due to it being directed by frantic as hell directors Neveldine & Taylor. The duo had previously directed the CRANK films as well as 2009’s GAMER. Like their films or not, it’s clearly a fact that the duo has style in spades (name another director who rollerblades after Jason Statham..).
Mark Neveldine has now signed on to direct his first solo effort, the found footage exorcism gone wrong tale, THE VATICAN TAPES. Neveldine is stepping into the project after previously attached director, James Marsh (the amazing MAN ON WIRE documentary) decided to leave the project.
While I’m not the biggest fan of the found footage angle, and even less of a fan of found footage exorcism movies (name one good one, I dare ya!), the fact that Marsh was even interested in the film, and now that Neveldine is attached, leaves me wondering if this might actually turn out decent. What do you Fright Fiends think?
