First Image From EVIL DEAD Remake Emerges From The Cellar!

The first still from Fede Alvarez’s eagerly anticipated (at least by me!) redux of Sam Raimi’s 1981 ultimate experience in grueling terror, EVIL DEAD, just premiered at New York Comic Con and as you can see above, it’s creeper than hell. A teaser trailer was also shown (with the cast, director, and Bruce Campbell in attendance!), and apparently it’s chock full of gore, chainsaws, and rape prone trees! That should debut online in the coming weeks, so keep your eyes peeled here and at the films’ official Facebook page for any updates.

EVIL DEAD returns to theaters to swallow your soul April 12th, 2013.

Synopsis: “In the remake of the 1981 cult-hit horror film, five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.”

  1. That looks terrible. I am going to be pissed off if this is serious. It looks far too pretty and doll like to be scary. What a fing joke

  2. Reminds me of Reagan/Exorcist. I’m strangely OK with this. Maybe it’s time for a “serious” take on EVIL DEAD. EVIL DEAD 2 will still always remain my favorite movie of all time.

    1. Totally agree. A lot of people will write this off immediately because it’s a remake, but I’m really looking forward to this. And if it sucks, then it will lead to giving the original and it’s sequels a good amount of exposure to newcomers.
