Those of you eagerly anticipating that epic Alfred Hitchcock Masterpiece Collection Blu-Ray box set will have to wait just a little bit longer to get your hands on the set. And for good reason too! An early review copy went out to Nick Wrigley over at enthusiasm.org and he noticed some glaring spelling and font issues with the credits in FRENZY. There’s also mention of poor transfers in some of Hitchcock’s earlier films in the set such as FAMILY PLOT and TORN CURTAIN. Take a look below at the FRENZY comparison.
Shortly after this news hit the web, Universal issued the following press statement: “Universal Studios Home Entertainment is postponing the Blu-ray release of Alfred Hitchcock: The Masterpiece Collection to October 30, 2012. Certain imperfections with the product have come to light and, as a result, we are delaying the release date to correct these points. Our goal is to always deliver the best possible product to our consumers.”
Point being, the set is still coming to Blu-Ray, just a month later than expected, which gives us all a little bit more time to save up! This seems like a must-own release!
