IFC Sets July 27th VOD Date For RITES OF SPRING!

Padraig Reynold’s independent creature feature RITES OF SPRING has been given a mid-summer July 27th release date from distributor IFC Midnight. The forthcoming genre-twist stars The House of the Devil‘s A.J. Bowen (who will be gracing the big screen again later this year with YOU’RE NEXT) & The Signal‘s Anessa Ramsey as kidnappers who seek refuge in an deserted school, home to an evil presence who’s thirst for blood awakens at the start of Spring. We’ve included the very cool, retro inspired poster above as well as the trailer below!

I’m loving the From Dusk Till Dawn-esque set up here. It’s essentially a heist film that’s stumbled into a horror picture, although this looks to be played far more straight & serious. Be sure to show your support by renting this through the VOD service of your choice when this hits July 27th!

Synopsis: “A group of kidnappers abduct the daughter of a wealthy socialite and hide out in an abandoned school in the middle of the woods.  But feelings of guilt soon overtake the kidnappers, dividing the group and putting their entire plan in jeopardy.  The evening further spirals out of control when their poorly chosen hideout becomes a hunting ground for a mysterious creature that requires springtime ritualistic sacrifices.”
