I’ve been jonesing to see Scott Derrickson (The Exorcism of Emily Rose)’s upcoming supernatural chiller SINISTER since the largely positive feedback poured out after it’s midnight screening during this years past Fantastic Fest. My thirst has been slightly quenched with the debut of the official one sheet above & the enormously creepy motion poster, which you can view at Shock Till You Drop. I love the dreadful tone and ominous foreshadowing nature of the poster – the film reel, the little girl & that gore created face. It’s a haunting image – if that blood visage face is already terrifying me, seeing it fully manifested in the film should make me sleep with the lights on for a good while.
Written by film critic turned screenwriter C. Robert Cargill, SINISTER stars Ethan Hawke and is produced by Insidious & Paranormal Activity‘s Jason Blum and will feature an expectedly seat jumping score from Christopher Young (Hellbound: Hellraiser II, A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge)! Look for SINISTER to haunt your local cinema October 5th!
Synopsis: “Found footage helps a true-crime novelist realize how and why a family was murdered in his new home, though his discoveries put his entire family in the path of a supernatural entity.“
