One of the biggest disappointments (and there were many) with THE THING prequel/remake last year was the fact that the fine FX artists at Amalgamated Dynamics did some amazing practical work that while still somewhat present in the final film was primarily replaced and/or enhanced with a lot of CGI. Thankfully ADI posted a great little behind-the-scenes video showcasing all of their practical contributions to THE THING. And at the time, I thought the footage warranted more discussion, so I conducted a lengthy interview with Tom Woodruff Jr and Alec Gillis of Amalgamated Dynamics for FearNET. (Read that right HERE.)
Now, ADI has released another fun behind-the-scenes clip via their studioADI You Tube page where Tom Woodruff Jr is set on fire during THE THING shoot! There’s a bit more to it than that but I don’t want to spoil it for you. Just check it out for yourself below.
