Zombies Invade PA’s Monroeville Mall! Again! For Christmas!
Yes, I know the holiday shoppers sometimes look like zombies, but that’s just an illusion. For the real thing head over to the Monroeville Mall in Monroeville, PA. Yes, THAT Monroeville Mall. Yes, the one from George Romero’s Dawn of the Dead. It’s time for one of those great new holiday traditions: Your picture with Zombie Santa!
The event is being Toy Galaxy, located on the Mall’s lower level, is holding a Zombie Holiday Party on Sunday, December 14, 2008 from 6 PM to 10 PM. Admission is free and the party will feature:
- Photos with Zombie Santa – photo package available at the store for $10
- An appearance by cast members of “The It’s Alive Show”, seen Saturdays at 10 PM on WBGN-TV
- Monroeville Zombies themed attraction
- Zombie Christmas caroling contest
- Zombie Shooting Gallery
Zombie party goers will have an opportunity to check out the store’s Monroeville Zombies exhibit, which is a celebration of Zombies in Pop-Culture. Located in the historic Monroeville Mall, site of the original film, George A. Romero’s Dawn of the Dead, the themed attraction takes fans through a visual history of zombies in cinema. Displays of movie props and memorabilia are woven into a presentation featuring interactive experiences, mall tours, and zombie gift shopping.
Owner Kevin Kriess welcomes both zombies and humans to visit the store for this unique holiday experience, which he hopes will become an annual event. What’s more natural than a Zombie Santa at the home of Dawn of the Dead?
