Are Johnny Depp & Tim Burton Reuniting for ALICE IN WONDERLAND?!

Tim Burton is currently in pre-production on a new version of ALICE IN WONDERLAND for Disney. And reports came out last week that actress Mia Wasikowska (ROGUE) has been cast as "Alice". Now Aint It Cool News got a tip from a reader off of MSN that Johnny Depp will play "The Mad Hatter"! This casting has yet to be confirmed but considering Burton and Depp’s history together (SWEENEY TODD, SLEEPY HOLLOW, EDWARD SCISSORHANDS), it wouldn’t come as a surprise!     If Burton DOESN’T follow the story, I’ll be pissed. Horror isn’t what I want from Alice in Wonderland. It’s Madness I want. And you can get that from Burton’s style, so long as he doesn’t decide to do something stupid like kill the characters in it. I hope he stays true to the book but adds the movie twists to make them all delightfully mad. Because if it’s not… Well, Mr. Burton, it’ll be the last movie of yours I would see.
    Yes, I am in love with the book and most of Lewis Carroll’s writings that much.

    I am so giddy over this news! Depp and Burton is the baddest team in town, and I can only imagine the madness that will be Alice in Wonderland in Tim’s hands…And I’ve never seen a sexy Mad Hatter before, but what else can it be with Johnny Depp in the role?
