SUPERNATURAL‘s Jared Padalecki is in final negotiations to star in the remake of "FRIDAY THE 13TH" due out Friday, February 13th, 2009 according to an article by The Hollywood Reporter. Besides his leading role on SUPERNATURAL as Sam Winchester, Padalecki has also appeared in genre flicks HOUSE OF WAX and CRY WOLF. Marcus Nispel is directing from a script by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift. (FREDDY VS JASON) Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form are producing.

"Paramount released the original "Friday" in 1980, introducing horror icon Jason with a brief appearance. The remake will focus on the serial killer, who will wear his now-iconic hockey mask. Padalecki will play the lead, who investigates what happened up at Crystal Lake."

  1. Great, what is this guy, 12? We’ve had Jason fight Carrie, and Jason fight a member of Destiny’s Child. (We’re just waiting for the inevitable Busta Rymes cameo in a FRIDAY flick– you know it’s gonna happen.) Now we’re gonna have Jason fight the cast of DAWSON’s CREEK. Lovely.

  2. You’ve obviously never seen the show SUPERNATURAL? Where he fights monsters every week? He’s actually a good, charasmatic actor. This casting is acutally a GOOD thing.
